Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has booked for this date yet (5/06) I think we are going to book a 4 day 5/06 I keep thinking it is so far away, I know it will go fast. Anyway I want to thank everyone for all the questions I have asked and I am sure I will be asking more, so thanks ahead of time. We are trying to get a bunch of extended family to book too and I think it should be a blast. I have one question. My son who will be 16 at the time of sail is not sure if he wants to go, I am thinking maybe I will just book for me and my 12 now and then if older son decides to go I can add him on before the final deadline, has anyone done this. I am sure my travel agent can fill me in on the details, but it is more fun talking to all of you!!

Me...Meeee!!! We're booked for 5/27/06 Special Western! My husband thinks I've lost my mind booking this far in advance but..well...that's another story. ;)

As far as adding your 16 yr old later on, it shouldn't be a problem because you don't have to worry about kids' club issues. Just make sure you book the cabin you want and that it sleeps 3. ::yes::

We've also booked for 5/27/06. I had DU e-mail me as soon as the 2006 dates came out. We were going to do an Eastern Carib. sailing, but decided that two days at CC sounded too good to pass up. DS (will be 11) doesn't know about it, and I'm trying hard not to let it slip. He talks about how much he loved our first cruise (6/5/04 Magic). We've got a Cat 7 and I'm having 2nd thoughts about spending the extra $$ to get a verandah when we were perfectly happy in at Cat 11 on our first cruise...

We're on the 5/27/06 too!! Like you said, two CC days - too good to pass up. Our dd will be 10 when we sail. This will be our 3rd cruise - last one was Dec 2003. I know it's a long time to wait, but it will be worth it!!!

I just booked an April 30-May 4th 2006 for my 15th Anniversary on the Wonder! It will be our first trip ever without our children and I figure I am giving myself a year and a half to work up to it! Also, I like being able to pay a bit each month. I am soooo excited about it!!! When the time draws nearer, I will be adding the REAS package...

We also have booked May 27th, 2006. Is there a thread for that cruise somewhere around here? I saw a yahoo group made for it but I don't want to have to make a yahoo name and such- in order to join it. This will be our first cruise- we originally had booked Feb 2005 over a year ago but recently changed it to May 27th, 2006.
Looks like a lot of us will be on the same cruise!
(nevermind- I found the thread for it :) )

There's a thread under the cruise meets forum ... 05/27/06-Whos up for a Double scoop of Castaway Cay??

BibbidyBobbidyBoo I see you posted there so I guess you found it!

We're booked too ... cat 8 (7012) ... myself, DH, 2 DDs (3 & 5 at time of sailing). It's our first cruise ever and I can't wait!

Being 16 does not encounter any kids' club issues; however, I think The Stack might be considered a "club" so issues could arise as I believe DCL put limits on the number of kids under 18 on each cruise in each age group. Anyone know for sure??

Hi, we are also booked for the 5/27/06 Double Scoop group.

Your DS 16 will regret not going on the cruise. My DD now 18 has gone on 5 Disney cruises, and it is the vacation of her choice. One year I suggested that we do something else for a change, and you should have seen the look on her face! That age group has so much fun, and they really enjoy the "freedom" of coming in at 1 or 2 a.m. when the stack closes. The only time I ever see my DD is for dinner, and that is because I enforce that. She has made so many new friends from all over which she still talks to.

TootyJane is correct that DCL will allow only the "quota" of guests especially in the kids/stack group. You really should book your DS now, so he has a spot reserved, and you can always cancel him out later.

Can you book your kids into the clubs when you book the cruise? This will be our first and it is hard to try and figure out some of the lingo that "pro" cruisers go on. I know it is far away, but I am trying to get as much info as possible because I am trying to get a bunch of my friends/family to go also so my kids have people they know, I know they will make other friends, but it is easier for them to start with someone they know. I am assicted to these boards, and I am not cruisin until 06!

I am booked for April 29- May 6th 2006 Eatsern Magic cruise.

YOU ARE SOO NOT CRAZY DOING THIS! I got a better per person rate for Cat 6 than I did on our honeymoon cruise in 2000 on Princess - completely unheard of on DCL.

My only problem is this is the farthest out I have ever booked a vacation and I am an obesseive planner. So I want to be careful not to know everything by the time we cruise - I want to be surprised by some things (like I am not telling my husband about being introduced as you walk onto the ship during embarkation - I want him to be wowed).
