Has anyone booked a dessert party for Magic Kingdom on Dec. 30?

I have not seen any confirmed reports yet. It’s remotely possible they were booked quickly, but doesn’t seem logical based on what happened last year (especially for the plaza garden version). My hunch/guess is they just aren’t loaded despite being ‘blue’ on the reservation page.
So the waiting game continues...
Assuming people just keep checking everyday, multiple times? Is it likely someone will post on the boards when it opens (if it still hasn’t)?

Lol, yeah... it becomes a waiting game. Either this will become an unofficial watch thread, or I might create a new one. Usually you get enough of a core group watching, people make it a part of their morning coffee routing, they post when it changes, etc. Fun times! :-)

Although I do have to say I have my spidy senses up a bit that they aren’t bookable. Curious and curiouser.

How so? That they might not do it this year?

Ok, no :duck:at me but one side of me has always wondered why they don’t up the cost or do some sort of ‘extrat’ event on these special days, rather than the traditional dessert party setup and cost.

BUT, it’ll probably be status quo and this is just a temporary thing until loaded. There is precedent for this happening before for 7/3 & 7/4 shows - where they stayed unbookable for awhile while regular dessert party nights before and afterwards were available.

There IS that! :)

I am adding myself to the unofficial watch. There was a change yesterday where at first the days weren’t blue and now they are with no times available. I am in my 180+10 window and I thought I had missed out. I hope they are released this week. I have to travel for work next week and won’t be able to stalk reservations.😂

Can we upgrade this watch to "official?" :) Often that change means that the dates will be loaded very soon, so hopefully before your work trip!

FYI, the PP above provided some slightly outdated info. For 12/30-12/31 in 2017 and 2018, both 6:30pm and 11:50pm shows on both nights were the Fantasy in the Sky show with a new year countdown tag ending. It was the exact same show all four times.

The only difference in shows is that the 11:50pm version on both nights is a "360 degree" show, meaning they utilize the launch point in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon which simulcasts the large fireworks shot from the primary/traditional behind the MK launch point. This mainly has more benefit for those at the MK resorts than those in the MK, generally speaking.

For 2016 and earlier they did the Holiday Wishes/new years ending tag thing for the early show.
Now I can’t decide what time to do! I am hoping to go 12/30 and do Epcot on 12/31 but I think 2 late nights in a row will be tough for both the kids and parents. I do want to see the best show...

Add me to the list of people looking out for a dessert party reservation for 12/30. Our 180+10 window opened yesterday and whilst we were able to book the After Fireworks Dessert Party for HEA on 1/1, we haven't been able to book anything for 12/30 as yet.

Same story here. 180 opened yesterday, no option to book on 12/30.

Do the early 12/30 show at MK which is almost identical to the midnight show. If you can't stay up, then at least you have already seen it. Then do the midnight 12/31 show at Epcot.

It might be a bit ambitious, but we are hoping to watch both shows at MK on the 30th, the early MK show on the 31st, then hop over to Epcot for the midnight show. Personally, I think the MK fireworks are better than the Epcot one, but you really should try to see both.
