Has anyone been to the Legoland water park yet?

We are heading to CA this summer and staying with some friends at a beach condo in Carlsbad. We'll be in town for a week and we have a 7 year old Lego maniac in the family, along with our 4 year old DD and an infant.

I have 2 coupons for the free 1 day child hopper ticket, but we are seriously thinking of buying the 5 days for the price of 1 tickets so that we can do several shorter days at Legoland and the water park to break up time at the beach. I know most people say that Legoland is a 1 day park, but I think we'd want at least 2 full days to do Legoland and the water park and I don't think we can use the coupons for multi-day hoppers. Has anyone been to the water park yet? I'd love to hear some reviews.

Are you from Utah? I can think of a few water parks in UT that are much better.

It's really small. It's fun but just a handfull of slides, splash play area for small kids and on for big kids, and a lazy river. They are adding to it a new ride, with water cannons to shoot the riders.

It's no raging waters. Still the kids will play there until you get bored and drag them out.

Yes, I do live in Utah. My kids are big fans of Cowabunga Bay, but they really aren't water park connoisseurs, so I think they'll enjoy it either way!

Sorry to hijack, but I also have a question about the water park...we have the kids free with a full adult price ticket with the water park included. Can we go to the park one day and come back the next to do the water park? Does it have a separate entrance or would we have to have another day's admission to the amusement park part? Am I making any sense?

TIA!

If your ticket is just a "hopper" that includes Legoland and the water park, you'll have to use them both on the same day, just like Disneyland.

Based on it's location and the fact that you can't buy a water park only ticket, I don't think the water park has a separate entrance. I also expect that the kids free offer is for a one day hopper ticket since that is usually the offer I see available.
