Has anyone been to the Character (birthday) tea buffet in Luckey Nugget Saloon?

...if so did you like it and was it worth it? We've "done" character meals at WDW Crystal Palace breakfast (very good food and characters), Grand Floridian (OK, but we were late and the characters were gone!) and Cinderella's (terrible food, otherwise fine except for the scrum)

It's my birthday (no not 40 yet!!) whilst we are at DLRP and I wondered about this for my birthday tea, as I do like cakes and puds!! Not as bothered about characters, but we won't do any other character meals so is this a good bet, or a bit so so? Girls are 13, 10 and 7.

Hello there

We have been to the character lunch at lucky nugget. We really enjoyed it and the food was quite good but we enjoyed other character meals more as they had better food and characters.

Lucky nugget had pluto, goofy, chip and dale, King John, and some more random ones.

Cafe Mickey is excellent with top food. Especially if you go at lunch it is far quieter giving a better atmosphere than dining in the parks. Mickey, tigger, pluto, goofy, king louie, Captain hook, chip and dale are there amongst others.

Also great if you are flush is character dinner at Inventions in Disneyland Hotel. Mostly the charcters are the same as Cafe Mickey but also you get Eeyore and Minnie. The food is a gourmet buffet in a very posh restaurant.

They also now do afternoon tea at Plaza Restauarnt with characters but i have not tried it.

The birthday part is the same everywhere i think. The characters and staff sing and present a card and a cake to you!

Thanks for that, it was the "tea" aspect I was most interested in. Will look into Plaza too.

Which is better of the two?
