Has anyone been to Ohana lately?

I am deciding the dinning arrangements for our Thanksgiving trip.The 180 days ADR is coming up in a week or so. Has anyone been to Ohana lately? The service there was terrible the last couple times we were there. Last trip to DW for us was almost three years ago and I was wonderig if the service has improved since then. Even though my hubby and I love the food there and my son loves the atmosphere of the place, I don't know if I can sit through another dinner there being ignore or having to ask the same thing multiple of times (if the waitress ever come back).......

Not in my book. I also have crossed this restaurant off my list of restaurants to return to. Been there 3 times, once breakfast, 2 times dinner. Breakfast was very good with good service. Dinner was another story. Dry meat and not very good service.

So good-bye Ohana's there are too many good restaurants at Disney to continue trying a restaurant where your not happy with the food and service.

We were there in March and had a bad experience. Bad service and food. I think service is luck of the draw. The best service we've ever had there was just OK, we've never had great service. But we've only had bad service once, well twice, once for breakfast, once for dinner.

We had breakfast and dinner there in Sept. Breakfast was ok but dinner was not a good experience: food was dry and the 'service' was lousy. The server practically threw food on the table and when I asked (twice) for the wet towels they are supposed to bring he just ignored me. Never again!

We were at Ohana in February - good food and decent service. We had "taken a break" from Ohana for a few years but wanted to try the pot stickers and noodles. We enjoyed those dishes a lot. We have a reservation for our October trip

Service at 'Ohana (at dinner, anyway) appears to be the luck of the draw, so I'd think it's rolling the dice to book there. (Never had "bad" food there personally, although the beef was too tough to eat the last time - just didn't eat it, plenty of other stuff to eat. If I'd gone there just for beef I would have been disappointed)

We had great service in 08 but meat was dry so in 09 we decided to try Kona, this yr we have ADR for Ohana but I plan on telling server upfront to pls tell grill chef we do NOT want our meat over cooked..and then pray its not raw..lol

Just ate there last month. Service was better than usual, and the meat was juicy. We aren't eating there this August though - but we might do Kona again. The kids love it there even though I think the service is glacier slow.

We were at Ohana two weeks ago and we had really good service. We've never had bad service, but our waiter this time was exceptional. I am always so full from the salad, bread, potstickers and noodles that I never want much meat anyway.

I prefer my steak rare. I always ask the server to come to our table if he sees there is some rarer pieces and they've always complied. It's usually about medium rare, but it's hard to get rare steak when they are cooking for the masses and the pieces are cut. The shrimp has always been suprisingly good, not overcooked. Maybe we've been lucky. We've been 3 times, always for dinner.

Our daughter loves going there for the atmosphere, the limbo and hula dancing , etc. I could be totally happy with the appetizers and desserts. It will continue to be a must do on our list.

Things seem to be hit-or-miss at Ohana. Our service was excellent last September. And all the food was very good as well. The only thing that is always perfect is the dessert.

Our famiy loves this place. I guess that you can say that we were lucky then since we have gone 5 times and had excellent service and or food too. I think there was one time that the steak seemed to be over cooked but other than that we just loaded up on everything else.

I make my ADR's soon (less than two weeks away) and I plan on putting O'hana back on list of ADR wants.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have a bad experience (except for the part where I took a header down the stairs and sprained my ankle there). We were there once for breakfast and twice for dinner. Each time the food was very good and the service was good as well. I will definitely go back the next time we're at the World.

We ate there in Feb after our Disney cruise. We had taken a break from Ohana for the past few trips and decided it was time to go back. Food at dinner was great (tons better than ANY food we had on the cruise). However service was not great--nothing bad, just really slow and after noting our anniversary and my birthday on the ressie AND at the hostess stand, we didn't even get a mention from our waiter.

2 days later we tried breakfast there for the first time. Food and service were wonderful!!

Ohana is truly on of our favorites. But we will probably take another break from it for a while. We get stuck going to the same places and are finally trying lots of new places in WDW!

Anyone have luck telling their server from the get-go that they are NOT in a hurry and to bring items out at a more leisurely pace?

I might try that. I know they are trying to turn the tables quickly, but I don't want to feel like I'm at a fast-food restaurant.

The reason we plan TS meals is to get a break from the parks. I don't want to be rushed through dinner when that's our planned down time.

But I have to say...the banana bread pudding makes everything allllll better!

went on mothers day. server was excellent and the food was too. All except the shrimp which was overcooked. But that usually happens every visit...I haven't yet hit it where all 4 of the meats were good. One of them is always not so great.

We always hope for a slow server. That way you get more time to relax and eat at your own pace. The meats are easy to control because when they bring the skewers to your table you can just tell them to come back later.

I agree with you 100% though that the bread pudding makes up for anything.

We were just there this past Friday night. The food was fabulous and the service was fine...I wouldn't say exceptional service but definitely not worth skipping a reservation from there. And, as our waiter said, we all want the "main course" anyway...the DESSERT!!
