We want to go when the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival/Flower Power Concerts are on.

This might be for next year if it all sounds good! :)

What were the crowds and weather like?

What dates did you go?

Anyone want to share their experiences with me...

We were there from May 7 to May 22. We absolutely love that time of year. The Flower and Garden festival is beautiful and you can't beat May (at least early May) for the weather. Mind you, we were there for 14 days and we had rain only ONCE and it was for a couple of hours in the afternoon. It was over by 6:00.

Most days it was sunny, clear skies and mid 80s for temp. Toward the end of our second week it did climb to 89 which is when we started hanging out by the pool more.

Crowds were not bad either. We never waited for anything more than 5 minutes. That's not to say that they weren't lines more than 5 minutes. But if you get to the park right when it opens you can get so much done in the first few hours. Then go back to your hotel for the afternoon (nice time laying by the pool -- or in our case, letting our 20 month old nap while mommy and daddy enjoyed a pina colada on our patio). We would return to the parks in the early evening.

Hope that helps.

The most important time to check for is when Easter falls. Then eliminate the week prior and the week following from your calendar. Crowds are INSANE over Easter. Also, keep in mind that many Spring Breaks fall in April. We went this year 4/24 - 5/1. We had a great time. Most of the Spring Breaks were over. Crowds were light and temperatures were comfortable (and low humidity!!).

We just got back from our trip (May 19th to 25th) and had a wonderful time. We spent two days in Epcot, and while we didn't watch much of the Flower Power concerts, we did enjoy the actual blooms that were everywhere. I liked reading up on container gardens, different style porches, different style backgrounds, and really enjoyed the ladybug release. And of course, looking at all the fun topiaries was great too! The crowds were pretty low the first few days we were there (and by low I mean similar to what we experienced in January on our honeymoon - little or no waits). Once we got to the weekend (May 23rd and 24th) things picked up a bit. I think a lot of people were getting a head start on Memorial Day vacations. The weather was HOT while we were there (usually around 90), but you could cool off enough just by walking into a store or indoor attraction. There was no rain or humidity while we were there (woohoo!!!). I would definitely recommend a May trip, and if you like Star Wars, May is a must since there are Star Wars weekends at MGM during the month of May.

We have been in May the past two years. This year it was from the 15-22. We've loved it both years. The crowds are manageable. Although I must say it was much more crowded this year than last! The weather has been hot, but not humid. Last year we had some rain, this year only one time for about 20 minutes. We are not big gardeners, but my kids love the topiaries. I will say when we left on the 22 (on a Saturday) POR was expecting to be completely filled that night. You'll have a great trip. We'll be skipping next May because a new baby is coming, but I hope to be there the spring of 2006!

One other thing! We were able to get great airline tickets for May.

The weather was AWESOME when we went.(May 21-18)The crowds were very light and it was so peaceful..They were handing out free aprons also,so that was pretty cool...:teeth:

We have been at the end of April when it is spring break in Up state NY. The Flower show was beautiful both times we went. I think the crowds were related more to spring break than the show. The crowds do NOT compare to the weeks around Easter. Next year a lot of the Northeast will be 4/17-4/25. When Easter is early we have Spring break the 3rd week of April. (NH usually has the 4th week.)

I've been during the third, second and first weeks of May during 2002-2004 respectively, as well as several other times in both May in August in years past. My advice would be to figure out when Easter is and plan to go two weeks after that. This should help you avoid the majority of the spring break crowds, but still be there before the weather gets too hot.

This past year the first week of May was a great time to be there. Highs were only in the low 80s, very little rain and very little humidity. By the third week of May it is usually considerably hotter (into high 80s or low 90's) and that weather lasts into June when it also starts to get more humid and chance of afternoon thunderstorms increases.

In addition to avoiding the weeks around Easter, I'd also avoid the week before and after Memorial Day, again to avoid crowds.

We were there April 18 -23. The crowds were very manageable, and the weather was perfect. The beginning of the week was sunny and in the mid-80's, and it got a bit more warm and humid towards the end of the week. But it never rained and the evenings were just so wonderful! Like a New England summer day and night....

We have been a few times in April during Massachusetts school vacation (the week of the Boston Marathon! has NOTHING to do when Easter falls.) But sometimes Easter DOES fall at the same time, and we do NOT go then, as the Easter crowds are huge. This past year was perfect and I suspect we'll go again in 2005 as Easter is very early then but school vacation for us will be much later. I agree to not go the 2 weeks surrounding Easter; it's extremely crowded at that time.
