Has anyone been on the Warner Brothers tour?

I hope it is OK to post this. We are trying to plan our trip to California, and we want to see two things: Disney and a 'Hollywood' Studio tour. We had thought about going to Universal Studios, and just going to Disney for 2 days, and then US for 2 days.

Now, I am wondering if the WB Studio Tour might be more relaxing (something we could do one morning) and then get the 5 day Disney ticket.

So I would love to hear from anyone who has done the WB tour. Is it good? Is the US tour better?

Thanks!

Although I haven't been on the Warner Bros. tour, what I do know is that Warner Bros. is a working studio only vs. Universal Studios theme park/working studio. I don't know if this is still true but Warner Bros. was a Van tour, not suitable for young children.

I went on the Warner Bros. tour quite sometime ago and I'm sure it's changed. At that time, there was an age requirement.
I'd say go for it if it was 2 adults and true movie/film type buffs but kids might want more of a ride type setting.
When we went, some of it was walking which was nice as we got to go into the actual sets that had just finished filming. (actual sets, not some that have been there forever for a tour).
It was a tour of about 15 people only, we got to walk down the streets and peek inside the fake facades instead of riding by. We also came upon a couple of tv shows that were filming and saw a couple of the actors coming out of the makeup trailers, another group was out eating at a catering type table.
We went inside a studio and watched behind glass how they record the music and sound effects for cartoons.
I'm sure this doesn't happen any longer but they just let us go in the middle by a cafe type place where people in the studio would go for lunch. We were free to stay and eat or go.

On the other thread you asked about Universal. I agree with the others, I think 1 day is plenty. Beverly Garlands Holiday Inn does have a shuttle btw. We had the VIP passes which we ordered online as we went during a holiday. It was very nice. We didn't have to wait in a line for a show but walked up 2 minutes before and went into another area. Very useful for Jurassic Park. I don't know if the VIP passes are different from the head of the line passes but we had head of the line twice for each ride. Sometimes they punched the card, sometimes they didn't to show how many times it had been used for that ride. We were ok with that since 2 times is alright if you have one day in the park.

Have done both and the Warner Bros tour and Universal Studios are nothing alike. Universal Studios is for all intents and purposes a theme park. On the tour if they are filming anything the tram will skip that area unless filming is done and all you will be able to see is the set dressing. Chances of actually seeing any stars is slim. The Warner Bros tour ,on the other hand, is a working studio (no theme park atmosphere) so you will be able to go behind-the-scenes. It's much more intimate as the group is about 10-15 people. You ride around on one of those big golf carts and actually get to see alot. I would personally recommend The Paramount tour. It is a walking tour but you will actually be able to go and see a show being rehearsed for about 10-15 minutes along with various sets. It's also cheaper. Haven't taken the Paramount tour since 9-11 so not sure if they are still doing it but if they are you may want to consider it.

I thought the Paramount Tour was closed now (since 9/11). Is it open to the public again? That would be a great tour! Has anyone been on it in the past year?

Thanks!

:( I'm so sorry! The Paramount tour is no longer being offered. Someone told me it was and I didn't verify that was correct but the website said it is not in operation. It's to bad because it was a lot of fun!

We're interested in doing the Warner Bros Tour. Can someone tell me how we sign up for it? Is it something we should do prior to our trip or is it something we can do once we arrive in town?
