Has anyone been moved due to the BWV rehab?

Just wondering if anyone has been displaced? I read the rehab is going to be extensive

Yes. I had a thread on this awhile back. We were moved for our October trip from BWV to BCV.

There was also someone who posted that they got moved from boardwalk view to pool/garden for 4th of July weekend. I have a boardwalk view for the beginning of December, I hope it's done, although I saw a post that said it was going through January.

I hope those moved aren't too disappointed....MS really should make these plans farther in advance to avoid changing ressies. Is it really not possible to schedule a major rehab 11 months in advance?

We were supposed to be staying BWV in late august with my inlaws but they changed their minds rolleyes1) so we moved to BCV as there were no 1 BR BWV left. Once you get used to the BWV it's hard to go back! Though I am really excited for BCV!!!!

I hope that those displaced were given something to make up for their inconvenience....Just something to acknowledge the mistake.

It's possible to schedule such events ahead of time but likely not feasible. I know some were given some compensation but they really weren't inconvenienced in that sense though I'm sure they were all disappointed. Anything more than a token compensation would have been inappropriate on DVC's standpoint because this is something that has to come from DVC's budget and ultimately the other members.

I was offered one night of points back for the forced move from a studio with BWV to BCV (where there is no such thing a a BWV.) We took it as we didn't really have a choice anyway.

We are at BWV in October, but a standard room (1 br) so I don't think we're directly affected. We stayed there in January this year and there was a ton of construction going on by the quiet pool (which was not quiet).

All of the rooms are being done. The article in dvcnews says through January 2010. From the reports posted, it sounds like they are working on standard view now.

I suspect they would give us a heads up if there would be a change in our reservation. Right? We would not find out at check in? Doesn't matter to us, we are just happy to be there!

We just returned last week from a stay in a standard view 1 bedroom. It had not been rehabbed yet. I hope they are putting new TVs in. Ours was tiny! There was scaffolding on the outside of some of the BW view rooms. We still had a great time and loved our first stay at BWV!

OH NO!!! This is the first I have heard about this...(been a little busy). We have a 2BDRM reservation for August. Will we be moved? Should I try to get another resort? OK...now I am freaked out

When we took the boat to DHS from BCV on Friday, they had lots of scaffolding up on the Luna Park preferred view villas. Looks like they were replacing siding.
