We've gone in February and October. Just wondering what the weather will be like in September. We're so used to doing the layers, it might be nice to be in shorts all day!
TIA Kathy

We've been at the very end of September and it was still pretty hot. I would definitely think you will be in shorts the whole time and not need any layers. It can be wet that time of year, so I'd pack shorts, t-shirts, and crocs. You shouldn't need much else.

I've been the past 2 years in Sept.
Hot, Humid, Hot again, Humid, then a little bit of rain.:thumbsup2
Seriously though, we plan ahead and prepare. We've never come
back thinking-the weather ruined our trip. It just makes us take a few
more breaks during the day.

We went last September, it was hot and humid (relatively). DH, DS and I weren't' too terribly uncomfortable because we live in the same kind of weather, but our friend from CA was dying. We also had some heavy, short rain showers. Again, not a problem for us, but bring ponchos if you don't want wet clothes.

We are going in mid sep with 19 month old...do we need to bring a sweatshirt for the table service restaurants? Will it be freezing in the restaurants??

We went last Sept. and are going again this Sept. We were so cold in some of the restaurants. We will definitely be bringing light sweaters for dining this time.

I always pack a light sweater or sweatshirt when we go to a restaurant...especially when it's hot. The A/C is set so cool inside that coming in from the heat can give little ones quite a chill. Better to have than have not, I think.

I like the weather in Sept. Esp if it is kind of overcast. That just helps keep things cool and breezy. However, being from GA, I am used the the heat and humidity.

Didn't bother me a bit. The resturant being to cool did though! I did get very uncomfortable a couple of times, but packing an adult sweatshirt or sweater was to bulky.

Another thing....don't wear too much white. The love bugs might be out in full force and they are attracted to white. Some years they are bad other years they aren't so bad.

We were there this past Labor Day weekend and just about melted. We have been several times in June and July and never been that hot and uncomfortable. We were also down last Ocotber and while warm, the weather was MUCH more pleasant! It is amazing what a difference 6 weeks made!

It usually will rain in the late afternoon, if it's going to rain. And it's always nice because it clears out the park and only lasts for 30 mins tops! It's usually 10 degrees cooler after the rain too.

We did get shooed out of the water parks on our two days there, due to lightning. Since it was so close to closing time, they just closed up shop. I think it was like 4:30 and they closed at 5. But we had the WPnMore tickets, so we didn't arrive until 3:30, so it was a bummer to happen to us both times! Forewarned is fairwarned!

Have fun. Definitely don't wear white due to the lovebugs, and do pack a light long sleeved shirt of some kind for the restaurants. It's just as hot as August, IMO.

We were there this past September.

The weather was hot and humid. It rained EVERY DAY!!! Some long periods others short.

The Love Bugs were in full force! GROSS!!! The bus stops at our hotel (the Coronado Springs) looked like they were painted black because there were so many of these things!

Sweaters are sometimes needed in the restaurants but not outdoors!

Must Bring Rain Ponchos!!! A short story on that...... I was WELL prepared - I packed everything! Including rain ponchos from the Dollar Store. We arrived in Florida by 9 am, had a relaxing lunch, cleaned up and went to the Magic Kingdom. As we pulled into the parking lot of the MK it started to drizzle. No biggie! Within an hour it was a full downpour where they were closing rides. My DH asks for the rain ponchos in my backpack:scared1: :scared1:
OOPS! Since we weren't going to be there a full day I decided (harumph) to leave the heavy backpack in the hotel room!!! $40 later we had our very own Disney Rain Poncos!!

We've been there the past 2 years in Sept and it was HOt, HUMID and HOt. did I mention it was hot? It rained for about 30 min right before a parade. It rains all the time, but Disney is so large that it could pour in DHS and be bright and sunny in MK. Pack rain ponchos and not much clothing.

Yup, what they all said.;)

We have gone in September the past 12 years. Hot, humid, sunny and either brief rain showers or all out down pours.
Ponchos, sunblock, ball caps and lightweight clothes are all musts for us. Cornstarch powder is good for the backs of the kids necks and backs. My husband and I use it too.
This might be tmi but, I bring a stick of deodorant for the day too. I just need to know that I am not the smelly one in line.

I don't think the OP's mentioned that it was HOT :rotfl: Hot, Hot, Hot and then it got hotter. I wouldn't change my plans for anything though. We are going Sept 12-20 and plan on having a great time, Hot or not.

We went over labor day last year and it was so much hotter and more humid then when I went at 7 months preg in july a few years back. Decided not to bounceback because the heat wasn't worth it, but changed my mind and I ma trying mid sept now. We did get lucky and only have 3 rain showers but wow did it rain. It was raining when we arrived but did pass by the time we were ready to head out, and it poured all evening that we had wanted to watch a movie at the pool, so we just hung out in our room and the food court. Sadly the final rain was fo rthe entire mnschp, and it was pretty much a bust with all the lightning.

We carried a towle from our room with us on the stroller and used it to cover up on the super frigid buses each night, and once or twice in the rest. It also came in handy for wiping sweat and drying from sprinklers, lol. We also carried our suits everywhere and took afternoon pool breaks.

You will ONLY be in shorts because it is HOT*HOT*HOT in September. You may still be in layers some of the time but it will be rain poncho's.

For me the heat is almost bearable because of the FREE FOOD! :rotfl:
