Has anyone been able to apply a discount to camping?

We are going to be at the fort for two weeks in June and have AP. The public discounts just got extended through August so I tried to call and have them applied. They told me you could only get a discount if you were tent camping or renting one of the cabins at the fort. Is that true? I know in past years I have been able to get the triple A discount but they don't even have that for this year. Anyone else had better luck?????

That probably means all the AAA discounts directly through WDW, for the other levels, have been spoken for (they only allocate so many). Someone said that AAA can sometimes provide it even though you can't get it directly from Disney.

Basically what they are saying is the only level of campsites that have the discounts are partial hookups. If you have a small camper that doesn't require sewer, you can still book a partial.

True, but it doesn't say a AAA discount won't be available the next day, week or whatever. They only way to get the AAA discount is to call each day or two and check if any are available. We went thru this in 2008 where DW called one day and found only on day AAA discount available and the next day or maybe two checked back and got a discount for a FULL MONTH saving us over $350.

I've never had an issue applying a discount, but it is true that only a certain amount of sites are allocated for the discount.
When I called, I would say, AAA, FL resident, AP holder... is there anything available? And they would search for the best one.

I booked our week in Sept about 3 weeks ago and got a AAA discount. CM told me there were no AP discounts available that week, and I was surprised that there was a AAA discount. So I called again a week later inquiring about the last week of April. SAME STORY. No AP discounts available but could get one through AAA. Didn't book that week though.
Availability is hit or miss due to however many of the discounted weeks are allocated are booked then cancelled, booked then cancelled, etc. That's what I have found anyway......
BTW - the AAA discount for Sept was 20%! Too bad you can't purchase tickets at the discounted rate too.

For the time we are staying there, 6/5-6/14, we received the special promotion on Disney's website for our partial site, they also told me the AAA rate for that time was available, but both discounts are the same!
