My friend asked me to attend a AAA Disney Vacation Planning Seminar with her on the 22nd.
The flyer she has tells where the seminar is and what time it starts. It doesn't say what exactly they talk about or how long the seminar is.
Has anyone been to one of these AAA WDW seminars?

I already got a quote from AAA for our upcoming Oct trip, but the price I was quoted was exactly the same as the Disney website's quote, except I had to pay a fee to AAA for booking it. Also, when I received the quote the lady wanted to know if I wanted to book right then. She wanted to put the entire 8 night vacation in full on my credit card right on the spot. I didn't book.

Do these seminars give useful information, or is it just a high pressure sales pitch event?

I'm hoping someone can tell me. :) Thanks.

We went to one on Tuesday night and were really dissappointed. I knew more about their (AAA and Disney) pricing, plans and stuff than the agent I talked to.

They mostly went over Disneyland because of the 50th anniversary. They talked about AAA memberships (the guy in charge of that gave me two different answers to a question in the same sentence). They showed a short slide show.

Someone asked on the resorts board if they gave you a video. No videos. All we got was a bag with with brochures that you could get from any of their offices. And a AAA pen. The agent I talked to didn't even know the info from their brochures!

They had an imagineer there and she was drawing characters all night. They gave three away in a drawing along with a snowglobe and some AAA goodie bags. You could get a character drawing if you put down a nonrefundable $50.00 deposit on a package. They were waving the booking fees for that night.

The imagineer also gave a small talk which was probably the most interesting part but still not worth the drive and time. At least the kids had fun in the room they had set up for them watching Disney movies, coloring Disney pages and eating ice cream and chocolate milk. :D

I just wanted to add that I do have a AAA membership. I used it to get a room only discount for our trip. I was just dissappointed in their lack of information/knowledge.

I guess I was hoping to learn something new but, honestly, I think anything I need/want to know can be found on the Dis!!

I went to one on Sunday. I didn't really learn anything new...I already knew it from the DIS!!! They talked about the attractions "swapping" around, the new tickets/packages and touched on EMH's.....that's really it. Was only about an hour.....no extra discount to book then and there :guilty: ..... If you are curious, go. It's free....why not? The nice thing was a rep from Disney did the presentation and she was open to questions at the end....that was probably the best part (for me anyway!)
