It seems the only reservations that become open during a search are after 9:00 pm.
I cannot decide if we should go ahead and book one or not.
There will be no little ones with us but we still would like to see the Beast. He is still there after 9:00?
With it being so close to closing I'm afraid they will rush us through dinner. Has anyone had that problem?
Anyone who has gone that late what was your experience?

Dinner at 9:30 is the same as dinner at 5. They won't rush you, the service is the same, and the Beast will be there. He's never guaranteed to be there at any time, but we've eaten after 9 many times and he was always there.

While not at BOG, we had a very late ADR at Coral Reef. We were the last ones to leave but never felt rushed. The only "caution" I might have is if you plan on having an after dinner coffee or drink, you may want to mention it early on. I didn't decide until it was time for dessert that I wanted a fru fru coffee (that included a bit of an adult kick) with my sweets. Unfortunately, they had already started breaking down the kitchen and had turned off the coffee machine they usually used to make my fru fru coffee drink. Instead I ended up with instant coffee mixed with Frangelico. WOW! It was pretty much straight liquor -- undrinkable for me. I mentioned it to the server and he didn't charge us and apologized for the "trouble" (which really wasn't, I mean it was closing time after all!).

When we got finished, they even showed us out a side entrance that got us out to the buses quicker without having to fight through the post Illuminations crowd. :)

BTW -- We have a 9:10 BOG on our upcoming trip.

Thanks for the info. Maybe we will go ahead and try a late reservation. I'm hoping they extend the hours so when we are done the park will still be open.

Oh good l'm glad the Beast is still around late and they did not rush you.

Last summer we got seated at 8:15pm (we had a 7:15pm reservation - there were some table issues and we said we would wait to sit together) at BOG with a park closure of 9pm. It also turned out to be a Tornado warning in Orlando until 9:30pm while we were in the restaurant. They did not rush us and came to the table to ask if we wanted to meet the beast. We said yes and they said don't worry he will be there. We were a party of 11 and celebrating our DDs 21st birthday. We didn't leave until 9:45pm - there were only a few parties left and we met the beast. It was lovely walking through MK with very little people there. We got some great pictures in front of the castle. We got a lot of pixie dust that day - but the best was as we were walking towards main street - CMs from the Ice Cream shop came over to our DD (as she was wearing a 21st birthday sash and mickey ears crown) and handed her a Mickey Pants Kitchen Sink. They were training DCPs and we got many treats. It was a great night having such a late ADR. We usually don't do that. Enjoy.

That sounds like you had a fun night.

We had a 9:15 I believe and had no problems. I will say the kitchen did send our dishes out early (and sent them out to the table with a 9:30 early as well) and after it happened twice the server seriously had a word with the food runner and then disappeared for a moment so I assumed had words with the kitchen as well. Our server apologized profusely and wanted us to know we could take our time and to please let him know when we were ready for the next course. He handled it very well and was embarrassed that the food was sent out with barely any time to enjoy our apps.

I dont understand what you mean on this? "I will say the kitchen did send our dishes out early (and sent them out to the table with a 9:30 early as well)". Do you mean they sent food out to you twice?

They sent out our appetizers and with in say 10 minutes our entry came out. We were no where near through with our appetizers and there was no where on the table to fit the plates anyways. We had to ask the food runner to take them back as we weren't ready and our server was making rounds to his other table. A couple next to us who was sat at about 9:30 had the same thing happen. Appetizers were brought and then in 10ish minutes the entrees. They didn't realize that is a no no so were trying to shuffle plates around and make room when our waiter saw the commotion and came over and asked if they were ready for the entrees and then told the runner to take them back. He stopped the guy just short of our table and I heard him telling him he has to look at the appetizer plates first if they are mostly full then turn around and go back to the kitchen and have the chef refire or ask him. After apologizing to the table he came to check on us. We let him know the same thing happened to us and he profusely apologized and headed to the back. This also happened be the one and only time a manager came by our table to ask how everything was so I wonder if maybe the waiter told the restaurant manager who then came to check and make sure everyone's night was going okay. I don't know if it was the time of the reservation, if the waiter goofed and put the entrees in too early, or if the chef fired everything super fast but they were serving entrees too close to appetizers.

I have and for us it was just too late to be eating dinner. Plus we could hear the fireworks going off outside and wanted to be out there watching them! And I think our food took a while to come out actually.

Oh ok I see :thumbsup2. Could the server have been new maybe? At least they took the entrees back until you were ready and stopped rushing things.

We will be going to the fireworks dessert party on another day so I think we will be alright on not being able to see them while eating. I'm also wondering if we will be hungry that late. We do usually get hungry and snack during that time.

It was thank you. We tried to stay positive since we had some of our DDs friends with us to celebrate her birthday and their parents heard of the tornado warning (in NY) and kept texting us. We just stayed put in BOG and kept having a great time. The staff was wonderful and we loved our server.

Didn't seem like the server was new. He was well trained. The person who actually brought the food (food runner) was anything but and was actually pretty short with us.

This is going to be my experience since I can't find anything earlier on the night I'm eating there. I'll be there July 12th. My ADR is for 9:45p. Fortunately, the MK evening EMH has changed to 10:00p-12:00a so what I plan to do is see if I can check-in right after the new fireworks show and hope they can seat me earlier so that I can still have time to do EMH without rushing. Originally, the evening EMH was going to be from 9:00p-11:00pm with a 9:45p ADR for BOG. I feel a little better about the timing although I worry that I might be too tired or sleepy to eat that late.

When are you going to be there?

We will be there in August. I'am glad they changed the hours to a 10:00 pm closing. I hope they extend it to an 11:00 or 12:00 closing.

I almost always eat dinner after the fireworks, as that's my dining preference (night owl, so if we ate at like 5 or 6, I'd be starving at 12-2!). I love it and think that the service is in fact, way LESS rushed. You'll be fine.

I ate at BOG at 10:05 pm, it was during the Magic Kingdom 24-hour event. So this was a couple years ago however, I never felt rushed at all and the Beast was still there.
