and gotten one? I feel like this is surreal or something. Sending a letter and a resume to companies on the internet. Weird! Had a call from a company that just happened to see my resume posted and went to an informative seminar. That place wasn't for me...I'm not a salesperson.

Has anyone applied for a job online and ended up getting it? What did you think of the process, and how did/do you like the job?

Hey Sandy!

I haven't, but wanted to bump this back up to page one in case someone else has.

Good luck with the job search.

I'm sure there are people who do, I know a friend of mine got one over the web during the last Olympics, but according to the Dept of Labor job info class I went to last summer I was told that only 3% of jobs are gpttem by the internet.... :(

This really saddened me because I spent so much wasted time on it.

Once thing it can do is give you a lead. You can follow up with calls and paper which seem to work better.

I also got only replies from slimy sales offers and agents that expect fees...

God speed!

I got my last job by applying on the net. It was very quick and easy. It was for a hair salon. The Distric manager called me with in a week and told me the saoln I wanted to work at was fully staffed but they had another that needed people if I was interested. I said I was and had an interview set up with in a couple of days. It all went rather well.

Yep, my current job I applied for online. I've been at it over four years currently. It seemed fairly normal process to me. I sent in my resume, I got a call, scheduled the interview, got an offer letter and all that. It seemed fairly normal to me. My husband sent in resumes online as well and got a few interviews that way too (turned down one job offer though).

Yes. My current job I got from monster.com. I've been with them now for 5 years.

I got my summer internship over the internet. I submitted my resume on the company's website and got a call for a phone interview about a month later. I was very surprised, because my college's career center has always said not to depend on resumes you submit online to get you a job. Basically it makes you feel like you're being productive in your job search, but 99% of the time nobody in the company will ever read your resume. (I can back that up... I've probably sent 100 resumes for internships online over the past two years to get this one call back.)

The job I got is with a large, very well-known company. It does happen, it's just rare. I haven't started yet but I think I'm going to like it. :teeth:
