Has anyone actually gotten a Florida Resident evacuee rate?

SSHHH, don't tell my DH, he will know i've lost my mind.

I sure would love to visit wdw b/f going back to the real world back home.

I have confirmed with a friend who works at CRO that it indeed is true. I believe the current rate is $59 for the values.

Good luck! Our thoughts are with you!

It was mentioned in the Orlando paper that WDW was offering those rates to the survivors.

thanks for that info.

It would be so great on our way home to stop in for a quick visit.

Don't know when time off will happen again.

We still have park tickets from our May trip that had to be cut short due to illness. Only problem is they are in my home in N.O!!

Call Disney, tell them that they are in your home & can they please look up the info on their system. I am not sure if they can do that with hopper tickets, but I know they can from AP's, but it is worth a try.

I am assuming a mod would be around $89? Having 5 of us, we at least need a mod.

Thanks

My sis's husband is down there on tree / power detail. She is hoping for something whenever he gets back up here, anyone hear anything for the workers, Sometimes disney does that. Thanks, Mky princess:

im hoping they do something for all government workers having 4 Firefighters in the family it would be great for all of us to get away on a trip

We were offered one, but didn't take it because the room didn't work for us.

Hey, are you still going in 12 days? Have a great time!!! I am sure you are ready to get out of Baton Rouge for a while. Unfortunately, we are returning home (metairie) Thursday from Indiana, no trip for us for quite some time. Don't know when anyone will get time off again.

we used it last year after Frances since we had no power for a week. I stayed for $79 a night at the CSR with the kids while dh worked. As far as a discount for firefighters they only honored the ones directly affected in Orlando. dh works for the county down here is south fla and they would not honor it.

Everything is messed up, but we're still going. We thought long and hard about cancelling, but this is my mom's first trip ever (we'll celebrate her 70th birthday while we're there), we had already paid for some things that were non-refundable, and we found out Saturday that 2 of DS's classmates will be arriving later in the week and we all have tickets to MNSSHP on the 30th.
We lost our Ding fare out of New Orleans and so far haven't been able to switch our flights. Jackson is booked solid and we're not sure we want to drive all the way to Houston. Seems silly to drive 10 hours to catch a plane to avoid driving 24 (round trip). The New Orleans airport is open, but so far no deals on other airlines.

I've gotta run but I'm going to send you a PM later this afternoon.

after 9/11/01 wdw offered discounts to those that were involved in the clean up effort at the world trade center and pentagon... it's very likely that they will do something similar for those involved in the katrina recovery effort...

I hope it works out for you guys!! I guess I need to plan for Thanksgiving 06, like I've been saying all along since we cut our May 05 trip short!!

Good Luck
