Has anybody hired a car at MCO through Priceline UK?

I decided to give Priceline a try for my car hire this time ( for fun as much as anything else!) I got my bid accepted and was confirmed with Alamo (as seems to always be the case)

I'm now a bit concerned as to whether Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI) is included (sometimes known as Extended Protection).

Believe it or not I'm a travel agent so could have got a good rate myself (ALL the rates we ever sell include the SLI so I presumed that Priceline's would as well) But I fancied trying Priceline for novelty value and got it a few pounds cheaper than my own rate.

I have looked at previous threads on this subject but I still can't work out whether it WILL be included or not.

Has anyone had recent experience of this??????

Hi Helen,

If you booked through PRICELINE then you would have been told at the time of confirmation to print off your Pre paid voucher (i take it you did this?)
We have booked our car in the same way from Alomo with Priceline and on the right hand side of the voucher it sais rental voucher includes~

Unlimited mileage
collision damage waiver
theft protection
VAT
airport fee
vehicle license fee
Premiun location fee?(dunno what that is)
third party liability
Only thing we don't have is the full tank of fuel or the second driver thingy as DH is the only one who drives over there.

Af you havn't printed off your voucher then here's the number to call 44 121 266 0100 or you could try e-mailing them.

If you do have your voucher then the hire request number is in Blue at the bottom of our page.

BTW, DH did the ordering so i'm not sure if he had to request seperate car ins when booking. Maybe someone else can help with this?

SLI (extended protection) was not on the voucher but I rang Alamo from work this morning and gave them the plan code and they confirmed that it was included. I also got an email from Priceline which just ran through the stuff on the voucher CDW,Theft Protection etc.

So although Priceline won't confirm that it is included I seem to be in luck.

What kind of price do you need to bid for car hire from Priceline?

Best thing to do is get some quotes for the size you are looking for. Then bid for a lower price than that. I read on one of these boards that if your bid doesn't get accepted you can just change the pick up time and try again.

There is a good website called biddingfortravel.com which discusses priceline bids.

If your bid doesn't get accepted then you've not lost anything, just remember that if it does you are stuck with it.

We have also hired our car through Priceline UK for 16 days rental, at a cost of £15.00 per day £240.00 plus booking fee £5.00 (economy) however, when I called Alamo they confirmed that we didn't have SLP the rate plan on the voucher is XY. I have read various post regarding this and it seems that on arrival its been included.

I'm sure it was XY plan we had, although the car was picked up at Miami in Feb. I bid through priceline, and only found it cheaper because I wanted "odd days" on top of the full weeks, every day is the same price with priceline, usually odd days are 20-25% of the week price elsewhere.

I worried endlessly about SLI, and again went on the info on bidding for travel board, my posts are probably still there. As soon as I won my bid I rang Alamo UK and they confirmed that SLI was included. However, this could change at any point.
