Has anybody ever had their credit card charged when doing online check in?

Hi guys
About to do my online check in and it requires a CC, it says your card won't be charged and I was wondering if this is the case? I am not using any CC's and want to make sure I won't actually be charged for anything?
Thanks

You will not get charged for anything. And when you physically check in a the resort, you can have them remove the CC.

So I can also pay cash to finish paying for my room reservation as well?

A room only does not have to be paid before arrival only a package needs to be paid before arrival. Room only you pay when you check in.

hate to be the bearer of bad news... OP, DF and I had a room only reservation from Dec. 1-5 of last year. We paid the balance when we booked using my debit card, did online check in, and then intended to use his new Disney Visa to pay off the balance when we got to the resort to get the rewards credit. I had put my same debit card in during on-line check in as it's our account for travel funds (we were going to use this to pay for our meals, etc.) Well imagine my surprise when i got off the plane in Orlando and turned my phone back on to an alert from my bank that i'd been charged a little over $400 by Disney. So they charged the card even though they said they wouldn't. We spoke to the CM at the resort, who apologized, and we spoke to the resort manager, who also apologized and said this should not have happened. It didn't end up being a big deal, we just reversed our plans and used DF's card for our meals, but it can happen, so be aware of that.
