Has $95/point spiked the resale market?

I just noticed that on the big 3 resale sites there is a total of only 1 BWV available and 3 sale pending. What's the scoop? Just an aberration? Or is the looming $95 price and Disney's new waitlist policy having an effect?

Although this is an interesting topic, I do not have any thoughts...except....

....did you just post this so we would all be jealous of your counter?? ;)

Have a GREAT and MAGICAL trip!!

It certainly making people think twice about resales. It's all a very personal decision. I think you have to really want your home location. The older locations have an advantage right now because no one has stayed at SSR. It sounds great. I'm sure it will be great, but a lot of people have real vacation memories from the older resorts. That's got to steer people towards a resale.

Actually, I am so wired for this trip that I had to visit this site to get a Disney fix. Can't wait because we're surprising 2 friends with a 1 bedroom (they think we are giving them studio accommodations) and meeting some former students there who we'll be taking to WDW for their first time. There is simply no happier place on earth, except maybe a delivery room!

We surprised my sister and her family like this....just wait for the looks....

:earseek: ...A FULL Kitchen?????

:earseek: ....a Jacuzzi??

They'll love it! DVC lets you be the creator of Disney Magic...Have fun being the sorceror's apprentice! :)

imho, yes it has, went to sale pending on 2 properties this week, okw and bwv, if both pass rofr i'll end up with 3 contracts at 3 resorts with 3 different use years, not my ideal but we got tired of waiting for bcv to come on market, missed 200 points the other day by 1 hour, it posted on web and sold in 12 minutes, saw another come available today, price already appears to be up about $2 a point from recently, being retired i have the time to track my points and the ability to fit our travel around use years, we are in love with all of wdw, we camped for many trips in fw and we loved that, i just wanted to be near epcot/mgm and after stay in cs last year for a nurses convention, dw and i decided to go dvc to make resort experience monetarily feasible in the long run

I think it must be having an effect...
Spoke with Jaki about listing my 100 pt. add on at BC yesterday afternoon , she called me back tonight with an offer of $74+
before I even got to sign the listing agreement!!!
I don't think You can do that with another timeshare property...

Hey garylpn what did you think of CS we stayed there on our honeymoon and loved the place that was just after it opened in 98. Farmer John 74+ per point without actually listing it yet the mares is sure ramping up to be good for the sellers now isn't it.

garylpn

Good luck on your 2 ROFRs. Can't wait to join the ranks of the retired so we can schedule our trips with more flexibility. Missing a contract by 1 hour :( Glad you didn't let it deter you!

dw absolutely loved cs, even with joining dvc she's still asking to go back to cs, i think it's because it was only 2nd trip to wdw since i semiretired, and i finally downshifted my personality and stopped being a park commando, esp during first welcome home trip to okw in dec, told her relax, hopefully 2005 nurses symposium will return to cs and we would pay cash that trip and stay at cs for convention, much easier to be right at convention site,
yes mr. jekjones1558, i couldn't let it stop me, i still work 1-2 days a week as charge rn and that money goes directly into dedicated disney trip account, so i'll bide my time and if and when a small add on bcv is there i'll take it, one can never have too many points, we are waiting out rofr and dw already said this morning to book in october as soon as closed, if it happens that's 3 trips this year, pounding those ap's, i'll devote some time to managing and tracking my points as a hobby, i'll never eat a point, luckily we live close enough to new york city to be able to mass transit to airports and can take an open spur of the moment seat, i'm even thinking of trying standby sometime, there must be more than 20 flights a day out of jfk to mco
