Harry Potter, Xmas Holidays, and me

We are thinking of doing Universal Orlando for the 1st time for 1 day. Basically my kids love HP and really just want to go to that area only.

They are afraid of the big roller coasters so I don't think we'll do the dragon ride or any of the other marquee rides at Universal.

So I'm asking myself if its worth the expense of staying at Royal Pacific for the purpose of getting the FOTL pass for only HP. I can get the RP for $248/night or just stay at the hotel at the gate for $119/night.

Adding a complication; we are going during the Xmas holidays - Dec 18/19th which is also a weekend. I'm thinking huge crowds...

Can I do this...give them about 5 hours at the HP area with no FOTL on a Saturday during the holidays and still feel like we saw and did it all?

The crowds aren't too bad before Christmas so you shouldn't need to purchase Express passes for that weekend. It will be busy but shouldn't be packed.

Express does not work on Forbidden Journey but work on the other attractions in the WWoHP.

If you're only concerned about WWoHP, five hours should be fine but I guarantee they will want to do other islands once they are over there.
