A friend has invited me to join her at her DVC home the week after Christmas. I haven't felt the happy emotion since my husband died suddenly in Aug but now much to my surprise I do.
The main thing I want to see is Harry Potter. Any hints? What time should I arrived in the morning? How crowded is it that week? I know the answer is very but is it better than before Christmas? Should I plan on being able to ride any rides at all? All I really want is the Harry ride. Which park is the best for that time ? Any info you can give me will be much appreciated.. Sherry in GA

Sherry - first of all I am so sorry for your sad loss, how awful. I am glad you have a nice friend that has offered you this break.

When you say after Christmas when exactly do you mean?

Personally I think your best strategy would be to get there early and get into IoA and WWOHP as soon as they let in the off-site guests. Do what you can in WWHOP and then when it gets even more crowded see the rest of the park and take a break/eat and go back to WWoHP later in the day to see it at night.

Hi Sherry...I hope your trip will bring your spirits up! :flower3:

Since you're coming during the busiest week of the year, I would definitely say get to IOA as early as you possibly can and play the hurry up and wait game. Unfortunately...with onsite guests still getting early admission to WWoHP and the throng of tourists that will be here, it will be a virtual mob scene at HP. The rest of the parks will be slow in comparison but still extremely busy.

I'm going against the "get there early" advice, as many will be doing just that and will be blazing to HP. Since you're going on a time when the parks are open until midnight, I'd recommend not even setting foot into WWOHP until AFTER 6pm. Crowds for WWOHP will be massive until then, and it wouldn't be uncommon to see a line just to get into the WWHOP, plus a LONG line for the ride.

Once the sun goes down, so do the lines.

Or you could do both like we did. ;) We went both in the morning and in the evening and got to see the area both ways.

My condolences on your loss. I hope that this trip is nice for you.
