DS had a spectacular HP Birthday last year. I planned a special session of Hogwarts (pm me for a link to my blog if you are interested in the party plans). I also gave him a HP Cloak from Wishcraft, glasses and a wooden wand from Alivans,which he just loves...

DH was just trying to tell me he heard there isn't a lot of junky stuff, but good stuff... so what is there? Share picts!

Like i said my son has a costume that he just LOVES... are there any rules about this? Do many people dress up?

As long he doesn't wear anything that would cover his face he could dress up. I guess it would depend on how involved the costume is. If it's just a robe or something like that, it should be fine. Just remember how hot it is down here in the summer.

We were there last June and it was HOT (and crowded). So I was surprised that anyone would want to wear a robe - but a number of people did. Not a majority certainly, but enough so that it was not unusual. There were a lot of souvenirs being sold, t-shirts, robes, lots of Hogwarts paraphernalia (everything with one of the four color combo's), owls and other critters, and then there was Honeydukes and Zonko's. We limited ourselves to a few gifts (t-shirt & a stuffed Scabbers) and lots of postcards - stamped & postmarked of course

There is a lot of good stuff for the Potter fan to purchase. There is not much junky stuff, some of course but not much. Most of the stuff is collector quality. I've spent thousands since the WWoHP opened on stuff for my collection. Brooms, wand displays, a chess set ect. There is also a lot a clothing, from deluxe house robes to hoodies, sweaters, tri-wizard jerseys ect. It really is a Potter nerd's shopping dream come true.
