Ordering lanyards in anticipation for our upcoming trip, and I'm trying to figure out which style of lanyard to choose, the classic style or the necktie style. Can both be worn around the neck? Is it even comfortable to wear them around your neck? Alternatively, can they both be looped around a belt loop and kept in the pocket? Its main function will be carrying tickets and express passes. I appreciate any feedback.

Here are the choices:

Wore ours around our neck all week. Forgot it was there most times. I had the Griffyndor one, that wasn't the neck tie style. The closure on the card holder was perfect and kept my Express Pass, room key and park pass.

Keep in mind they're everywhere in the parks and hotel gift shops. My kids loved picking one out there while I checked into our room.

I had the Deathly Hollows one. I loved it. I head everything I needed and it was fine around my neck and i hate things on my neck!

I second this! We checked in, and then went straight into the hotel gift shop to pick out our lanyards. The kids loved doing that! (I got the Hufflepuff tie style!) Then we went straight to Express pass kiosk with our lanyards in hand!

I love the tie style. You can't see it in the pictures, but it velcros closed where it meets the pouch holder.

Soft on the neck.

I've also worn it beltloop/pocket style, and I like that, too.

Does anybody know how late the shops in the hotels stay open? or when they open in the morning? We will arrive after 9:00 p.m.

Do the tie-style lanyards work decently in place of an actual tie for dressing up purposes? I have a gray sweater that is similar to the style Hogwarts students wear (when my sister saw me wear it the first time, she asked if I bought a "Harry Potter sweater" lol). Next time I'm at the parks, I think I'm going to wear the sweater with a white shirt underneath, which just leaves me missing a tie to complete the look.

No, but they sell school ties there!

I'll have to look at those! Was just hoping I could kill two birds with one stone, haha. Digging my park-to-park ticket out of my bag throughout the day was a bit of a hassle, so it'd be helpful to have a lanyard to keep it in for easy access.

Well, let me back up. DS, who is a kid and who has an imagination for dress up, considered it a tie for a couple years. If you just want something in your house colors to be around your neck, then it works. If you want something that looks like a tie without using your imagination, then get a tie. :)

I'm not sure what I want! I'll have to try a lanyard on when I get there.
