Harry Potter Half Blood Prince Movie need help!

Hi,
My DD is a huge Harry Potter Geek, (no other way to say it.. she's obsessed!) We are going to be in Disney from July 8-16, Yes, we are actually flying home so that she may attend the midnight premiere on July16/17 at midnight!

Well, this morning they announced they will be moved up the premiere date until the 15th, (midnight july 14/15) We will still be in Disney. I was wondering if anyone knew if they would show the premiere at Universal since they are opening the Harry Potter land next summer? Do they have a movie theater at Universal? I kind of remember hearing about that. Trying to come up with a solution for my daughter that will almost make her happy and not be sad about missing the premiere with her BFF.

Any ideas as to where to catch this movie would be appreciated!

I don't know what universal will be doing, if anything.

I am willing to bet that the AMC theater @ DD will have the same kind of midnight premier as your theater at home.

Hope you get it worked out! It always kills dh & me if ds is disappointed.

CityWalk has a VERY nice theater in the complex. I imagine Universal will do something for the new movie but I haven't heard anything official yet.

I think you'd be sure to find the movie opening that night at both the AMC theater at Downtown Disney and the AMC theater at City Walk in Universal. Both cinema complexes are outstanding facilities with lots of screens (there are 24 screens at DTD and 20 at City Walk). I'd reasonably guess that more than one screen would be showing the movie for the opening.

Several years ago, I was in Disney when one of the Star Wars movie opened up. I know they had a midnight premiere that night because I remember people standing in line at about 8 o'clock .

that's good to hear, because that's where I will be, standing in that line! Lol.. yes, she wants to be at the midnight showing. she has some mugglenet website or something she goes on and all the people on the site are saying how cool and how lucky she will be to go see it down there. she's bummed her friends won't be with her but is super excited to see it down there!

Another thing that may be worth looking into is going see it on IMAX. That's what my sister and I did for the last movie and what we will be doing again for this movie. Looking at the IMAX website, it doesn't look like there is one at DD or US, but there is one just a few minutes down the HWY from WDW. As a Potter geek myself, I would definitely recommend going to the IMAX if you can.

Funny you mention that! My daughter and I just went to the IMAX theater at the Liberty Science Center in NJ Friday and saw the most recent movie. They had a two week showing of it for spring break. She LOVED it. I have to admit it was the first HP movie I saw all the way through and it was very good! I'm still not too sure how much I like the IMAX experience, I find it hard to focus on the screen and my eyes always feel like they are readjusting to it. I'm sure there will be a screening of the new one in IMAX in my future as well! Thanks!
