We're going to WDW and I am trying to decide if it woul be worth it to do 1 day at Universal for Harry Potter? My 9 dd has read the first 4 books and loved them. But they are not thrill riders and not sure if it would be worth it? WDYT?

My 8 yr old LOVED it..She is not a thrill seeker either. She loved looking around the area , the Frog choir that performs and the Triwizard rally. She also Rode Flight of the Hippogrif( a tame coaster similar to Goofys barnstormer). She was not willing to ride Forbidden Journey though she loved the castle tour, she was Meh about Ollivanders. She couldn't ride Dragon Challenge.AS much as she loved it we didn't spend all that much time there and spent more time in other sections of IOA.The problem is that my 8 yr old JUST makes some of the height requirements and didn't make alot of the others. It is really expensive for a one day trip, since 1 day tickets to any Orlando themepark are not really discounted

Have you been to Universal before?

When you say they are not thrill riders...have they been on Test Track or Big Thunder Mountain?

No - only Splash Mountain. They are only 51" or so too. We wOuld really only be interested in HP world and kid type rides... We've never
Been before.

There is still quite a bit to do.

The entire Dr. Suess area & Jurrasic Park area.

It's been a few years since I've done the water rides, one is simular to Splash and the other Kali...but both a bit wetter and maybe a bit wilder.

Spiderman is a wild, but not roller coasterish...but it is by far my favorite.

WWOHP has the kiddie coaster. Ollivanders has the wand show. And then all of the sights of just being there.

My 7 year old is still not tall enough for Dragon Challenge, and only started doing Forbidden Journey on our 2nd visit, but despite that, it was still worth going. During our first two trips, no one did *any* bigger ride other than Forbidden Journey, because DS is too small, I was too chicken, and DH can't quite get on the thrill rides yet, but our LONG stays were still worth it!

Just being in Wizarding World, for a Harry Potter fan, is AMAZING, even if you don't ride anything in there. (but there's Hippogriff and there are other things to do in the parks, so don't just walk around WW and leave, OK?)

If your children like HP they will be in heaven at Universal. Many of the rides are 48" with just a few, like the Dragons Challenge that are 54". My 7 & 9 year olds (at the time) much preferred Universal to WDW. We are taking them back this summer & can't wait! If you buy an express pass, doing both parks in one (marathon) day is doable.
I am so excited for the new Despicable Me ride opening this summer!

Your kids will LOVE it! Spiderman, Jurassic Park area, the water rides...UN is heaven for the 8-9 year old set. :)
