Okay, I have a few questions regarding the books. Number one: why do you need a pencil case at Hogwarts if you use quills (HBP, when Hermione walks out of the bathroom and wipes her eyes on her pencil case). And the Floo Powder. What happens if two witches/wizards try to land in the same fireplace, and will arrive at the exact same time? In the sixth book, the Hogwarts students use Floo Powder to reach their Head of House fireplace, and surely there must have been a time when they were more than one student was trying to get there. :wizard:

i think you think too much....just let it happen.....

Yeah, well, I can't help it! It's my third time reading the book, I was sleepy, and the questions just sort of popped into my head. Just wondering if anyone had any answers. If not, then I'll probably just come up with some excuse like, "They're wizards for goodness sake! Of course they can do this stuff!"

The pencil case is to hold the quills.

I believe in one of the books two people tried to floo themselves through a fireplace. Can't remember what happened.

Okay, yeah, I should have thought about that, which proves that I really don't think too much. But about the multiple people traveling by Floo Powder, did you mean in the GOF? The Weasleys come to take Harry to their house, and there's a pile-up in the fireplace because the Dursley's have boarded it up. If so, they wouldn't have been coming from different places... which leads me to think that two or three people appearing at the same time would be all right, but what if, say fifty people did? That would prove difficult because everyone would be concentrating on that one fireplace.... maybe I do think too much.

Yep, well I think only one can go in at a time, lol, I really am not sure what you are talking about though

Yeah that's what I was talking about.

Harry Potter is the best movie ever!! And i dont know the answer to any of your questions.

I think that if more than one person tried to ge to the same place, then they would probibly die.
If they didn't have pencil cases, what would they put their colored pencils? Scissors? Glue?

I dont think they have colored pencils, glue, or scissors at Hogwarts.

I agree with Lavender. (We're best friends.) They've never metioned coloring pencils or glue at Hogwarts. What would they use them for? And as for the Weasleys, they didn't all try to get into the same fireplace at the same time; they assumed that the fireplace would be unobstructed, and therefore they merely waited a few seconds in between the Floo-ing of the former person before joining them. You can tell, because Fred (or one of the twins) tells the other to turn around before they're fully in the fireplace.
And I have another question: if Muggle equipment doesn't work at Hogwarts, then why do watches work? You know they wear them, if you've read the books.

Why wouldn't they work? Are you saying if I had a pen, and I brought it to Hogwarts, it would stop writing?

No I am not! Muggle devices don't work: which means that batteries wouldn't work! So why do they work? Do they wizards have their own kind that they buy in Diagon Alley or something, that run on magic?

I'm back with another question. How do ghosts at Hogwarts hold onto things? You know Peeves can knock things over and throw water balloons, but if he's transparent, and can go through walls, how can he hold onto these?

I believe ghosts can "solidify". Also to answer your second question let me ask you this, if you have magic, what's the need for any type of battery? You think too much about that book.

Hey i have a question is Peeves a ghost or something that has a different name!

No, Lavender, Peeves is a ghost. He's a poltergeist, which I believe is just a really annoying ghost, or at least that's Peeves's case.
And I really can't help the questions. I am really weird about my books, and I like to have a better understanding of everything in the Harry Potter books. Don't worry, the questions don't hinder my love of the books, reading them or not. But they're just something I contemplate when I'm really bored and have nothing else to do, like in the middle of class (he he!)

The pencil case si to keep the quills and ink in and the floo powder is magic so it channels people in one at a time. Only the weasley's house was linked to hogwarts anyways so harry would be safe. :-)
