Harry Potter at IoA

I thought that end of 2009 was the opening date for this, now it says its 2010, does anyone have any info on when this might be opening and has anyone gone recently and seen how much progress they've made? Thanks!

We are toying (read praying!) for a trip in Jan/Feb 2010 maybe but I don't want to go until the Harry Potter world is completed as i'd be gutted to just miss it!

There's LOTS of rumours flying about on this one and when HP land will officially open it's doors. The most recent I've heard is that it's scheduled for 'Summer 2010'! They're not giving much more away.

If you nip over to the Universal boards, there's a couple of threads started on there showing pictures of the progress etc. If I can find the link I'll post it for you.

unless it has changed in the last few weeks, the universal boards have been saying summer 2010 - I had asked on behalf of friends if they would get to see HP in May 2010, and was told not to count on it!!

No-one knows for sure officially yet - and we're hoping for maybe a section of it to be opened by May 2010.

We'll just have to keep checking the official website for updates and see where they get up to with it all. If not, looks like we'll all HAVE to head back there once it does open

Wow what is it with harry potter the latest film was meant to release in oct/nov still waiting for it they will be too old to play their characters soon

i hope it opens soon i would love to see it i havent been to universal/IOA for a long time

Re. the film, my son informs me that the final processing/editing of the film was held up due to a strike, therefore the release date had to be put back. I think trailers are now saying July!

We are also waiting for Harry Potter Land to open at Universal until we return, probably Oct 2010. I just hope given the current financial conditions that they carry on with the development!

I heard the film was complete but it was decided to hold it back until summer 2009 to maximise school holiday revenue at the cinemas.

I heard that it was because Warner Bros didn't have a big film for summer 09 and there was already competition over the xmas period.

I've been reading about Wizard World of HP on other boards and I would suspect it'll be open in time for the summer holidays in 2010, with maybe even a soft opening earlier, tho Universal are being very cagey so far!

Yes they held the film back because of the writers strike as they had no big films coming out this summer.
