hello all,
this is my first time on this forum and i don't think this question was asked. My daughter is 7 and has the the height requirement for Forbidden Journey. She has seen the 1st 2 HP movies but didn't get thru the 3rd because of the Dementors. Will she be able to do the Forbidden Journey ride? How intense is it? Would love anyone's hones opinion. Thanks!! :)

That really depends on the intensity of rides your DD likes. The benches are moved around on Kukla robot arms...so it's not a simple dip here, dip there ride. At one point, you're lifted up and over. That being said, I'm a total coaster-chicken and love this ride. As much movement as there is, it's very smooth and easy on the body. But there are intense scenes in the ride...a dark forest of giants spiders, a dragon in your face, dementors in your face, etc. So if your daughter is easily frightened and doesn't enjoy getting frightened and is sensitive to motion, I might pass. You could always have someone in your party ride first to scout the ride for you. I always have my wife do this for me...she's the adventurous one. ;)

Whatever you decide, have a great trip! :)

If she can't handle the dementors in the film, she won't like the ride. There are animated visuals of dementors during the screen part and multiple animatronic dementors pop out at the ride vehicle and even follow it at one point.

thank you so much for the info..we may have to sit this one out till the following year. Thanks again!

Make sure you walk through the castle though. You can do that without standing in line, or if you wait with others you can exit before the ride. It's very cool inside and not scary.

We did this in late Aug and enjoyed it! It allowed us to take our time, and see all the neat things in the queue, I definitely recommend it too!

Now when it comes to motion i am the worst, but please dpnt miss out going on this it really is not that bad.

Close ur eyes when i comes to the screens, if needed.

But i really enjoyed this ride dont be but off by comments as other thing that really knocks u dizzy is the screens so just turn away if needed

its a fantastic ride like i said i had 2 go home after the rip en rocket coaster. ;p;

My kids are not thrill seekers, but love this ride. Dragon Challenge made me nauseous, but not FJ. Favorite ride EVER.

I'll echo BrinkofSunshine here and say that if she can't take the film, you should sit out the ride. My 10 y.o. daughter loves the books and the movies and HATED the ride because of the dementors. It gets pretty scary at times.

As far as the intensity of the ride itself, my 8 y.o. son and I loved it but my wife (who is a ride chicken and sat out) watched another mom get off the ride, waddle over to the garbage can and throw up. That confirmed to her that she made the right decision.
