I just got back from WWoHP..and not only did Harry take me on a FJ...I met
" our" esteemed leader Pete ( very nice man, and I was VERY VERY surprised that he couldn't ride FJ, he isn't very tall or large..) ...
I also " met" Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys ..well, he stopped for awhile two feet from me at Hard Rock Hotel..and I didn't meet Joan Rivers..by choice cause I really don't care for her..

Good things about the trip:

#1 Staying onsite. Fastpass is awesome, early entry into HP is awesome, close to parks is awesome..you get the picture

#2 The TM"s..everywhere we went we were welcomed and questioned. We had on HP lanyards and that seemed to spark conversations, even at US. The TM's were so friendly and nice.

#3 Finding a Subway a couple of miles away. We brought back subs to the room several times..not only did we save money but we " felt " better after eating them

#4 Not buying the refillable cups you lug around. We traveled lighter.

#5 Buying a tiny/mini backpack at US/IOA that hooks on your belt loop...I had my cell phone/camera/CC/$/sunglasses in it and the best thing was I could keep it on at all of the rides..I think it was $18.00!

#6 AAA discounts!!!! We saved enough money to pay for our membership

#7 Buying my tickets beforehand at MapleLeaf.

I only have a couple of regrets..

#1 Eating at Mythos...total, total waste of money. I got the crusted pork and it was so fatty and tough..service very slow. I did like the air conditioning though..almost too cold. And no I didn't complain..usually I complain about everything but this trip my DH and I decided to go with the flow..and anyway maybe that is how the pork is supposed to be??? My family's food was fine though

#2 Not staying up late enough to " enjoy" Citywalk..just too tired, hot, etc

#3 Worrying so much before hand about if I was going to get entry into WWoHP. I seriously stressed for nothing.

#4 Six nights at Hard Rock Hotel. The maid service is very spotty..not quite what you expect for the money you pay. Everyone there is nice though...and really the room was too small for all of us ( 4 in a standard which I take full responsibility for booking ) . I guess I thought it would be bigger..I did like the location and the perks of the onsite stay. Next time I would only book onsite for 2 days and spend the rest of my time in a " cheapie" hotel, in two rooms.

#5 Seaworld..it was okay but that is it. Next time I would rather spend the money at a waterpark or such. Also the people that work there aren't the best..just not friendly like at Universal.. kinda grumpy and blah.

..and let me add that the sound from the hallways enters your room at Hard Rock. I took the huge bolsters from the beds and placed them in front of our door and that seemed to help.

In fact, everyone I met said that they hated the sounds from the hallways so I shared my bolster hint.

I bet the maids were wondering why all of the bolsters were by the doors!!!

My sister stayed at the Hard Rock and said she couldn't wait to leave.

We stayed this past week at the Royal Pacific and loved it. The employees were so friendly and the hotel was so nice. I wish they had more casual dining options but we did go to Jake's and loved it.

The mini backpack sounds great if you can take it on rides! I'm looking for something to carry medical supplies that we MUST take with us (not leave in the locker) - any chance you could put up a pic of it?

Where is this Subway restaurant? This sounds like a great tip!

Thanks for the review and ideas!

Thanks for sharing. I wonder why Pete wasn't allowed to ride?? Did he do a review?? I can't find it.

Pete said he couldn't fit into the test seats outside, so he didn't try to get on the actual ride. He did walk through and said the queue was great.

Enjoyed reading your review. I'd like to see a picture of the mini backpack too!

SWEET! Can you tell me where you were able to use your AAA discount ? :thumbsup2

Everywhere but at Citywalk's Panda Express by Burger King..though the Moe's there took it. Also, I had coupons for other places at Citywalk which was a greater discount so I used those istead. I did not try at WWoHP since I heard the AAA discount was spotty..but stores in both parks are selling merchandise so I waited and bought stuff there ( shirts, key chains, mugs) . Of course you don't get the shopping bag with Harry on it..I loved carrying around those bags because people would stare at you. :rotfl:

I saw something similar to the mini-backpack you were talking about....It's more like a belt pack (or fanny pack without the belt). It looks as if it could hold several bottles of medication/maybe a glucose meter, etc. Made for runners that need to carry their entire wallet, epi pen, etc.

Dick's Sporting goods, in the shoes dept.

Well. I took picts of it but I can't get them to place here.

Any hints? My computer says it will not let it due to security reasons. ARGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, its about the size of a coke can with a removable strap that you can wear as a back pack or as you would a handbag. It also has a black handle to make it a wristlet..and two zippered areas. It has one of those metal clamps on it that went around my belt loop..or you can thread it through your belt. I don't like fanny packs, to bulky and so not cute. These worked great. It really is about the size of a camera bag, but with more room. I went shopping in Orlando and used it instead of my handbag..just so much more secure and easy. I liked it because my big, oversized sunglasses fit well in it.

That mini packback sounds interesting. I need something like that maybe instead of the cargo shorts I'm searching for.

It's too bad that you didn't like Mythos. I have never read a bad review for them but I kind of shy away because their food just doesn't appeal. I'll have to try them someday though - I guess. ;)

I'm glad that the TM's were nice. This has been our experience too, in fact we always make it a point to praise them to everyone.

Everyone else's food was good ( not great ) but they had sandwiches. I liked the fact you can get drink refills for free ( when the waiter fianlly bought them ) ..bread before your meal...and the nice cold room.

Mmmmm Mythos bread... the reason we keep going back!!

Okay, since I can't post the picture of the backpack I found it for sale on Universal Orlando's website so anyone that wants a peek can see it there

like I said, it's about the size of a can of Coke...it has two zippered areas and the removable straps.

Mine is going cruising with me next month...
