Can someone tell me if that harness is removable (or easily removable)? My DD is 6 and doesnt need it and it looks like it would be uncomfortable to sit against if it were in the stroller but not hooked around her. I just want a stroller that can hold her weight. She is 42 pounds and this seems to be the one to hold the most weight (55 pounds). She will just be hopping in and out at the parks in between rides so she wont need the harness. Thanks for the help!! :wave2: :flower: :wave2:

Altough you will believe I'm crazy, removing a harness on a child stroller is not safe, even if you know your DD won't get out without warning and will stay safe in the stroller I would advise you to use the harness at all time, you never know when something can happen, she's probably able to strap herself in and out of it so its still really quick to use it, just remind her its safer with the harness and use it at all time, I've seen so many injured kids that had accidents due to their parents being careless about using the harness in their strollers or even car seats, even if you know she will be alright the safest way is to use the harness.

To answer your question, yes it is removable. I took the shoulder harness out for my ds5 when we went to WDW two weeks ago. The lap harness can't be removed, but it can be fed through the slots and hooked underneath. We didn't use the harness for either child (5 and 2) for the entire trip.

I don't have a Volo, but I have a Twin Techno and my oldest DS (5) sits on it all the time, without complaints. I won't take them out...I tell him if he starts acting out, I am going to USE THE RESTRAINTS! It works for a while... :rotfl:

WOW- I am the OP on this thread back in March of 2005!! Just saw it again and noticed the current postings. Just wanted to get back on after (over) a year and a half that we went to Disney last Nov. with the Volo and I did remove the harness (top part) and DD did great with just sitting on the waist straps. She is 8 now and we plan on taking the Volo back in 3 weeks and she will jump in and out again. Im not too concerned at her age of her getting hurt. We are just using it as a resting spot for her anyway. She walks most of the time.
Now if I had a much younger child- I would appreciate the full harness!!

I fully agree with Dodge34. If is not safe to remove the harness of a stroller. When my 6yo rides in a stroller, the 5 points harness is on. She knows it is the rule and doesn't complain. It's also a way to stop her getting on and off every five second.
