Hi everyone I just booked a first haircut for my LO daughter at the Harmony barber shop. As well as a trim for my older daughter. Does anyone have any feedback on their experiences here? It would be greatly appreciated. TYIA

We haven't been yet, but booked a haircut for DS on our upcoming trip. Based on the feedback I've received, it's well worth the price!!

We did my son's first haircut there and the barbers were amazing putting stickers all over him, having light up distraction toys (he was not thrilled with it at first, but warmed up). My older son got his haircut at the same time and now we go every time we're at WDW.

We've never had a bad experience - all of the barbers are wonderful and I've seen many little girls enjoy their experience while I was there as well.

I'd recommend it!

We had our daughter's first haircut here and they were great. I think for the cost, it was under $20 if I remember correctly, it was a great deal. You receive "first haircut" mickey ears, a certificate, and they wrap up the hair with some Mickey confetti. I have it all saved for my daughter. :)

After we had the haircut done, I put on her ears and found a photopass photographer and asked them to take a picture of her sitting on the ground, with the castle in the back. It was precious and some of my favorite memories from that trip.

We got DS's first haircut done there on his first trip, and have done a haircut there every trip since! They are really great with small kids, keeping them occupied with stickers and light up spinning toys. We have never had a bad experience! Here's the links to the posts I have done so far of our barbershop experiences with DS at 1, 2, and 3 years old. We went again this past May but I haven't uploaded the photos yet.

Wow! thanks everyone. I am getting so excited. The girls will love it I'm sure!! They are not ones to walk around in heat dressed up so we decided this instead of BBB.....8 more days till we can book our fast passes. Can't get here soon enough!!!

We will be doing harmony vice BBB too. This will actually be my daughters first haircut but plan on just booking a trim as she is 3 (the hair was very late to join the party)

That's funny my little one is celebrating her 4th bday in Disney and it will be her first haircut. Long and straight though so shouldn't be hard to cut a few inches and clean it up. I'm so excited for her. Who gets your first haircut in Disney world....very special.

Aaah! I'm so excited. :cool1: My 15 mo old is getting her first haircut when we go! Thanks for the photo idea, we will try to do this too! Granted she really doesn't need her haircut yet, but how can you beat how special it will be!

My almost 2 year old had his haircut there in Jan as did my husband. They were very conservative in their cut and did a barely passable job BUT I would totally do it again. He loves to get his hair cut- it was his 2nd or 3rd- and he thought it was awesome to get it cut with daddy. They had 2 different women, it was fast even with a walk in and pretty cheap. DH just said it was a crappy haircut and he would not do it again. LOL

DS (11 months at the time) had a fabulous first haircut there last month! As PPs mentioned, complete with stickers and light up toys for distractions. I was impressed with how great Michal was in getting the cut done with no fussies or squirming from DS! Also recently found out that Michal did a first haircut for my friend's son many years ago. Price was $18 and included the special ears, the hair, and a certificate of bravery with his name on it!

Highly recommend taking some before and after photos, and/or at least taking solo shots on Main St after! :thumbsup2

My husband had his hair cut there and took our then 11 yr old with him while my older daughter and I shopped :cool1: They decided that she needed attention too, and she came out with her ponytail redone and gold confetti all through her hair--and they didn't charge her, just entertained her while her dad was getting his cut!

It has been awhile since I had my son's haircut at the Harmony barbershop. At that time it was walk up only and you waited inline for the next available barber. They also didn't cut girls' hair, but would Disney-fy it with glitter etc. is it possible to make appointments now? How? Will they cut a woman's hair? I have severe thinning and hair loss from currently undergoing chemo and think a traditional boy's cut would actually work well for me. Do. You think they would do that? Thanks for any input and info!

Yes they take reservations. Call (407) WDW-PLAY.

We're going in two weeks and I plan on getting the first cut package for my DS.

Both my sons (5&8) got their first haircuts there and we try to get back every time we visit. For our trip in June we waited a little too long and we were all very shaggy.

About reservations. We tried calling while we were there in June but kept getting routed to dining. So we stopped in - there was a 15 minute wait. I asked about waiting or getting a reservation and here is what the cm hostess told me:
1. If you get a 30-min or less wait, you should stay and wait it out (we did and it was quick)
2. Central reservations only has 2 slots per 30 minute reservation period, the rest are set aside for walk-ins. So even when it is hard to get reservations, it can be quick for walk-ins.
3. You can't make a reservation with the hostess - you have to call and you will likely be offered a time a week from now. If you want something soon, you have to walk-in.

Also, they couldn't take credit cards, if I remember right (maybe it was cash?). Someone ahead of me was having trouble paying - I thought it was with a CC. Magic bands are accepted and cash tips are fine.

Anniegirl, I expect they will cut your hair. I have seen them cut girls hair and they cut men's hair - they don't seem to have restrictions. DW only gets hers cut one place, so I can't say for sure. They are all about the magic!

I'd like to take DS aged 2 in for his first professional haircut, but I hesitate to make an appointment because I'm not certain I want to have yet another agenda item that requires us to be at x place and x time (adr and fp+ stress me out enough).

From the previous comments it sounds like it's not too difficult to go to Harmony without an appointment. Is that accurate?

I'm planning on just doing a walk-in with DS. He's 20 months and technically his second pro cut (it was more of a trim what you can as he freaked out) so I'm planning on getting mine cut with him so he can see it's okay. I can't imagine that it'll be very busy, people come to MK for the attractions, not for haircuts

Does anyone know what all special things they can do to girls hair? My dd wants to do BBB again, but I dont really want to pay that much again!
