DGD decided at the last minute she wanted to do BBB. Of course, I asked her before & she said "no" - so now there are no times available for us...
So while I was on the phone, a very helpful CM suggested the Harmony Barbershop for a new "special" hairdo. I jumped at the chance and made a reservation.
In my haste to write everything down, I either didn't hear what the price was; or I didn't ask. (I know - Crazy grandmother!)
Does anyone have any recent experiences or can you point me in the direction to find the price? I know it will probably be far less than BBB - but just want to make sure I budget this and the tip. It will be on our last day at WDW and I definitely want to make sure we have enough $$ left.
We aren't expecting the BBB experience - she's already done that. I really think it will be a fun experience for her! Especially since the trip will be in honor of her birthday and the CM mentioned we may get lucky and the Dapper Dans might sing for her...
I know she will be totally surprised when we walk into the Barbershop. She's never been there before.
TIA for any info you have to offer!:yay:

I think, but am not positive, we paid about $15. It wasn't much different from a haircut price at home, though. They put pixie dust in her hair. My son had gel put in his hair. They enjoyed it a lot.

The last time we went for a hair-do (not a cut) there it was $7. However, I would make sure you have realistic expectations for this. We've gone several times, and usually they will only do either one or two ponytails. We did have one stylist offer to do a "messy" bun, but nothing like you can get at BBB. Unless the policy has changed, they're just not able to do any other hairstyles. I'm not sure it would qualify as a "special hairdo," although your daughter might enjoy the experience.

Also, they no longer do the colored gel. You can get "pixie dust," which is more like confetti (not like the pixie dust at BBB). It's very cute and very noticeable.

Just want to mention...the barber shop is a barber shop. They employ licensed barbers as it is intended to be a place to get your hair cut.

While Disney is happy to take your money to put glitter in your granddaughter's hair, you can do that yourself a lot cheaper.

It is funny how the barber shop was a barber shop until BBB opened. Now it has become a poor-man's BBB. I find it sad.

The Barbershop will treat you like a barbershop should. A nice cut and style. They'll hit you with a bit of dippity doo (dah) and sprinkle a bit of glitter. I wouldn't call it a sell-out.

We enjoyed our walk in.
