Ohh and you're about 20yrs too late to apply for the job. Everything at Disney is seniority based, and so they have to bid for that location. Penny (blonde hair older lady), she's been with the Company for 30+ years (if I'm not mistaken, she celebrated her 35th anniversary a year or two ago). Michael has been there for almost 30yrs now. And every one else has a good 10 years with the company.

Although if you're not in the barber shop, there are several other backstage cosmetology areas to work in. Penny started out doing hair for the princesses.

just threw out my receipt from 2 weeks ago, ds's hair cut who was 2 was 15 even and dd got a bang trim for five...they also added hairspray and pixie dust to her hair.

Current prices are Adult $19, Child $15, Gel/coloring/Pixie Dust only $7, Child's First Haircut (includes certificate and embroidered ears) $18. (The reason for the extra charge is some idiot Guests had complained that First Haircut children were getting the certificates and Ears free while others did not, so management decided to add the additional $3 charge.)

One important thing to remember at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.

Great info, as per usual! We are regulars to Harmony (kids get their haircuts at least 2x per year), and so I had posted this very info, but my post didn't go through as the boards went down for 2 hour upgrade.

When we were there in March, we had to wait behind a bunch of adults who did this very thing. You are charged $7.50 for this service (plus tip ig you so desire).

I was just there today and asked for some clarification.

If they do not do a cut it is $7.50 (and there is no tax).

In addition to colored gel and Pixie Dust, for girls they can do Pony Tails, Pig Tails or "half-ponies" (whatever that is). They will not do braids or buns.

Thanks for the update - sorry for my mistake above. I just looked at my bill this morning as I was posting, and noticed I posted $7.00 instead of $7.50 for the gel style.

They do a fun job, and it's a good price. Lots of colours to choose from!
