Day 4 SeaWorld

We decided to do a half day in SeaWorld today, later on we planned to go back and have a swim again. It was getting very hot in the afternoons as the weather was the hottest it had been in 25 years! I think we were to hit 85 degrees today!

We went straight to Shamu’s Believe show, and had to sit in the top row. I didn’t think the show was as good as the last one though to be honest which I thought was a shame.

Everyone wanted to do the Polar Express too, but the line was about 2 hours so we decided to do that as our 1st stop on the second day we came here. We took some pictures of the kids by the bronze polar bear outside the attraction, I think Harley thought it was real!

Every Believe show was announced as full about 25 minutes before the show was due to start so it was a good job that we got into it when we did.

Sea World was a great place for the kids as there was so much stuff for them to look at, Harley really loves fish and will spend hours watching them given the chance. We were unlucky at the underwater viewing area as the whales were in one of the other 8 pools at the time and didn’t come to say hello!

However, we had more luck the the pearl pool, and Shelby enjoyed watching the “mermaids” diving for the pearls. We had lunch at the outdoor seating area, we had taken sandwiches for the adults today and the Shelby had a Shamu Hotdog meal. We were all fed up of burgers so ham and cheese rolls were a welcome change!
This is mom with Shelby's Minnie Hat on!

Again by the time we had finished eating and messing about the kids were asleep so Mom, Dad and Lou took them off to walk round some of the exhibits while DH, me and Tezza went on Atlantis and Kraken. There was a single rider line at Atlantis so we used that and were off within about 10 mins. The ride was great I was in the back of the boat and got a little wet but not loads. DH got a little wet too but Tezza was SOAKED!! We went to Kraken to dry off and waited about 20 mins – not bad considering that the line said 45! The ride was great and you could see Aquatica from the top of it. It all looks very colourful – can’t wait to go there!

We met up with everyone and they were just finishing Shamu Ice Cream bars. Shelby was plastered in ice cream looks like she enjoyed it!

We headed off to the dolphin petting area, and saw the turtles, dolphins and some big pelicans. Harley has been teething quite badly today and his temperature was right up high so we decided to hop off home and see if we could cool him down. This however didn’t please some members of our group – even though they knew that we would have to do what the kids needed – a row ensued and we all ended up in a strop. DH decided that it would be better if we rented a second car for Tez and Lou and then they could go and do what they wanted. Mom and Dad were more than happy in doing what we were with the kids as they had come along to see the kids do everything.

I was annoyed that everyone was upset and just wanted to go home at this point. I think it wasn’t helped by Harley being poorly too. We gave him some calpol and popped him in his bed and he did seem a bit better when he woke up. Anyway we sorted out our differences and DH phoned Alamo to get another car. They said that he could pick it up from MK in the morning. So that was that.

We all went in the pool for a bit a then onto the Pondarosa for dinner. Steaks all round. How much do I love the all you can eat ice cream?????

We got back home at about 9pm, the kids went straight to bed. And DH and I had a beer , well he had cider and I had beer! DH doesn’t do beer! We watched some local news about a Baby Jesus that had been stolen from the nativity display, but it was ok as it was fitted with a GPS!!! :rotfl:

Mom and Dad opted for an early night.

A great day Gemma and some lovely pics too :thumbsup2 Shame about the little row, that's why I won't go on holiday with my family :rotfl2:

Lovely day, pity that Harley was unwell and there was a row, a second car was a great idea :thumbsup2

It is hard when you go with a large group of all ages. Worth it in the end but hard!

Oh bless her thats so cute! I will tell him!

Sounds like the 2nd car was a good plan.

A lovely day apart from everyone getting upset. I often find people can get a bit ratty after a few day's into the holiday, I think it a combination of jet lag and being on the go all of the time.:)
