Hardest to get Advanced Dinning Reservations?

Hey All,

We’re going to book Aulani for 3 nights and want to try and get as many of the dining reservations that we can. That would include Ama Ama, the Luau, and Makahiki (maybe for both breakfast and dinner).

Will any of these be difficult to book if I’m on right at 30 days and right when it opens? If so, which are the ones to prioritize booking first?

Last question… can I book my whole trip at once like I can as an on-site guest at WDW?

Thanks!

You can book the luau way before the 30-day mark. I think it's 90 days or 120 days or something like that.

The system doesn't work like WDW, though. When they say 30 days, they mean 30 days. So, if you want to book something for the second day of your trip, then you'll book it 29 days before your trip starts. Booking opens at midnight Hawaiian time each day.

We aren't doing the luau this trip so can't speak to that. But for the sitdowns I didn't have any trouble with either at my 30 day mark for early November, but I was on right at 5am Chicago time (midnight in Oahu). I have one more Ama Ama to book so hoping it stays this way.

One thing I will point out is their booking engine is wonky. In the search I put in 2 people for 530pm and it said nothing was available. I then moved to 6pm and suddenly 6pm & 630pm were available. It seemed the search was very specific, versus DL or WDW where it will give options with 2 hours either way.

The WDW reservation system is the same. It's the absolute worst.

What time do dining reservations start (in hawaiian time)? A few days ago I was able to book the character breakfast around 1am hawaiian time but now its past 3am hawaiian time and nothing is showing up for 12/6.
