Hey everyone!

I faxed off my application for the WDW CareerStart program. (Note: I was accepted to Disneyland this morning, but think I might turn it down due to lack of housing.) I just had a couple questions:

1) About how long does it take for CareerStart to contact you to follow up on your application and set aside an interview time?

2) Is it hard to get into this program at WDW?

Thanks for all your help! I am very excited!

1.) Not exactly sure, but its within a couple days I've heard.

2.) Not really. My case is a different one because I'm not 18 until a week after the program starts, so I'm still waiting to hear If I'm in. But for others who will be 18 by August 27th, are almost already accepted. I have not heard of one person who has been turned down for WDW CS.

If I got in...almost anyone can. I start in September ^^

SWEET! Hopefully I'll be there in September too! They recieved my fax on Friday...but it is Monday night and I have yet to get a call...So I'm kind of nervous.

I'm stoked for you Deathtiger! Do you know the details of your operations position yet? IE, what you will be doing exactly?

Hey i am looking at the career start program and am very interested...i was wondering what kinda of things do they look for and should do anything before i apply..I can't wait to graduate so i can do this....also can i do both the career start and college program. i heard that someone did the college program twice which is exciting! lol Yea if anybody has any info plz post or pm..thanks so much!

The CareerStart office is open from 8-8 EST and they would be the best to ask. It's mostly automated messages, but there is an option to talk to a cast member and ask questions.

I found that Disneyland (very different from Walt Disney World) looked mainly for a major positive attitude, being a Walt Disney fan, and really open to do anything. Just be yourself, and I'm sure you'll get in! :)

They look for very Enthuastic people. During your interview, SMILE! Even if they can't see you, it helps. They ask about Disney experiences and really dig into why you want to be there. Careerstart is right after High School, and you jsut need to be 18 before your program starts. And you can do it multiple times too like the COllege Program. Make sure you have faxed in your App and all that before your interview.

As for my Operations position, You don't know where you work or what you are working until you arrive. If you are accepted (Which I know you will be Hopesethigh!!) Your arrival date will be August 27th most likely...unless you don't turn 18 til around the beginning of September..then your start date will be like mine, September 5th.

Good Luck to you all! MSG me on MSN at deathwouldbemyname@hotmail.com if you are curious about the program and/or just want to chat about DIsney stuffs

I don't know Deathtiger...I was told I would be called last Friday...it is now Wednesday night and still no call or interview. I sent them an e-mail to confirm they recieved my information (which they already confirmed) and that they had my correct phone number. So we'll see...the waiting is so hard! I just want my interview! haha

Hey, I tried your e-mail and it didn't work. Is that your MSG name only?

I have my phone interview tomorrow at 12:30 PST! Whoo hoo! I'm hoping they'll tell me whether I am accepted or not over the phone (Disneyland did), I don't know if I could take the any more waiting!

Hey,

Would someone mind giving me a heads up on the questions WDW CS asks in your interview (assuming the in-personal and phone interviews are the same)? I would love to get prepared!

Thanks!

Does anyone know when you can start applying for the spring one if they even have one? I am student teaching in the fall and most likely will be living at home and and subbing at schools in the spring (boring!) so why not try for the CP and delay getting a "job".
