I have been reading a lot about the hotels and just finding out a lot of information....they all charge parking correct...

My husband really wants to save up for one of these..to be walking distance

Question is which one has the best restaurants for kids ...pool area....

Where can I find a map of which one is the closest to the entrance...

any other advice or comments would be great
thanks:D

It depends on where you want to be WDW or USF. If your vacation is for Universal then HR or RP, you can get great discounts even during peak. Check out the Universal board for better info. As far as kid friendly restaurants the Universal hotels don't have "food courts" like WDW, I am not sure about RP although I read the resaurants are expensive there. Remember if you stay onsite at USF you get FOTL acess...worth it's weight in GOLD!!!

Food at US resorts is very expensive when compared even to the food at WDW resorts. We stayed at Royal Pacific this past summer and did most of our eating either off-site or in the parks. Food at the resort was out of this world expensive and we are not cheap skates.

DS (14) and I just got back from RPH. We ate dinner there three nights. Price for each meal was around $25.

We liked the HRH (there is a water slide and an ice cream parlor) better though. We have stayed at HRH twice and are going again in May. Food is about the same price at all the resorts and restaurants and parks (actually we didn't find it any more expensive than at Disney but we did find it much better).

As for the parking fee, it really isn't a downside. Disney includes it in their room prices whether you actually park or not. For me, since I don't usually rent a car, it is a bonus.

If you stay at RPH or HRH you can walk to all of the restaurants at Citywalk so your dining choices are plentiful.

Phone the resorts and check on prices using AAA, Entertainment rate, etc. They are most helpful in trying to get you the best possible deal.

RPH is closest to IOA (Islands of Adventure) and HRH is closest to Universal Studios. But it is only a five minute walk from one park to another so really it doesn't matter.
