I'm working with a travel agent for my honeymoon and she originally found us a standard room at Royal Pacific for $250 a night. My mom and dad got me a AAA membership for Christmas and our agent found us a garden view 2 queen room at Hard Rock for $211.65 a night (AAA discount). Today, I was poking around the AAA website and found a standard king room at the Royal Pacific for $186.12. So what I need to know is, is the Hard Rock really that much better to pay the extra $25 a night? We don't really care about the view, so that's not an issue.

I have stayed at both hotels. The RPR is really nice. Polynesian theme, rooms are beautiful, and it is the second closest hotel to the park. The pool is good...not my favorite...somewhat geared for the kids.

HRH...closest to the parks. You can walk to US in just a couple of minutes. Room decor (IMO) is better than RPR. It is more Rock N Roll decor with beautiful touches. The pool is gorgeous. We really love it. For us...we would pay the $25 more per night for HRH.

i have stayed at both hotels many times.

i would say go for rph.

the decor is beautiful ............
the lobby is quiet and peaceful

don't think twice about it.
you will be on your honeymoon.
go for the king bed.

I haven't stayed at the Hard Rock but I've been in it. It's more elaborately themed than Royal Pacific. I can't comment on the rooms themselves -- but there is absolutely nothing wrong with RPH, it's a fantastic hotel.

They're all great, in fact.

If a rock-n-roll theme is worth an extra $25, stay at the Hard Rock. If you'd prefer to save $25, book the Royal and don't look back.

I am a huge HRH fan. The rooms are nice with thick plush duvets and feather pillows:cloud9:, and each floor has its own rock and roll display opposite the elevator:cool2:. One year we stayed on the Tears for Fears floor (remember them?) and another it was the N'SYNC floor. The pool is great - zero entry with sand, rock music playing underwater:rockband:, and a KILLER water slide!!:thumbsup2

We love RPR the theming is excellent and very relaxing. For Honeymoon ,whats the prices like for PBH as i would choose this for that special occassion, and the Villa Pool would be ideal for you to relax.

I would go for what is cheapest. .I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, and if the pool is an issue, unlike Disney, universal ALLOWS pool hopping.

We love HRH i would stay there over any of the other hotels, on site and off!!!

We've not yet stayed at HRH but we have stayed at PBH and RPR and LOVED RPR. We liked PBH a lot too but for us RPR was just fantastic - the theming, the rooms, the proximity to IOA, etc. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Universal resorts! have a great trip!

Our favorite is the HRH. We will be going back in Aug. Its basically the closest to the parks and the rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. We haven't stayed at RPH and don't really have any interest in it since we love the HRH so much. You wouldn't be disappointed in the HRH.

Our family has stayed at both hotels and we prefer the RPR. The atmosphere is so much more relaxing and peaceful. We stayed in a deluxe club room at HRH and still like RPR standard better (even though the extra room was great at HRH).

Ditto. Here now and LOVE RPR. :cool1: We went over to check out Hard Rock tonight since we have a an almost teenager and a 10yo and I've read that boys tend to like HRH. Ours did not go for it at all. NONE of us liked it. It's a nice place and well done for its theme...just not our thing. The rock memorobilia was cool to mom and dad, but irrelevant to our kids. My husband talked to a couple staying there, who said they liked it but were considering switching due to the constant loud music. They said the ice cream is awesome, though.

I'd definitely choose RPR for a more relaxing honeymoon. (Or PBH if the budget affords it.) And save HRH for another trip.

We haven't stayed at HRH yet - first time in 2 months as my DD is now a 'rocker' - she will be excited that the floors have different 'rock band' names - didn't know that.

We have stayed at RPR 3 times though and we have always found the place to be really nice and relaxing - the pool area and gardens are gorgeous so if I was on honeymoon - I would choose the king room here.
