Hi Everyone !
We just got back from a 5 night stay at Hard Rock and thought I would post some thoughts for anyone planning a stay there....
Check in, we arrived at 9:30, reserved a deluxe queen room and were upgraded to club dlx. queen, we had to wait about 25 minutes for the room though and it turned out to be across from the ice machine! I have to admit, I was not bothered by the noise from it except for one time, my family never noticed anything.
Our room was big and roomy! the beds still have the triple sheeting, all in white, my DH and I felt the beds were kind of hard (but to defend the beds, we compared it to our bed which is extremely soft) , as for the sofa bed, my oldest DS said it was uncomfortable and had a spring or something that poked him when he moved. Our family has never been comfortable in hotel beds, so besides the beds, we were very pleased with the room, maid service was great, room was very clean (except for the tile grout in the bathroom which I would never have noticed if I hadn't read it here by someone else!).
We stayed here in December of 2004 and I have to say that the staff was completely different this time, they are all extremely friendly and don't seem to have that "laid back" kind of attitude anymore, although I must admit, that never bothered me ! :teeth:
I love this hotel and will definately be back again next year! I love the music, the upbeat atmosphere, the theming and everything about it ! It is still our favorite hotel in Orlando !!! :goodvibes

Can you tell me about the club food? I've never been to HRH before and I'm thinking of trying it this July.
Thanks.

We're staying club level in July and requested the deluxe room. Hopefully we'll get one. How did you like staying club level? How were the offerings?
Thanks.

Glad to hear you had a great visit and great upgrade! I wonder if they could give you a comforter to lay on top of the sofabed. Maybe I'll ask about it if my son seems to be bothered.

i have stayed on club level in a standard room, deluxe and the suite.
all are quite fine. you will enjoy it.

the food offerings in years past were excellent.
2004 was the last year i loved it. 2005/october stunk.........snacks in the lounge during the day was opened bags of potato chips and pretzels poured in large containors.
evening choices limited and not as tasty. alcohol provided in the evening also.
morning was good but it was not replenshed. it included dry cereal, various juices, donouts, pastries, danish, bagels, toast, cream cheese, jellies/jams, fruit of all types. coffee/tea etc
once it was gone, it was gone.

soda and water was available all day long.

i was there the second weekend thru columbus day last year. maybe that makes a difference on what was served.

The club food offerings weren't too bad ! breakfast was kind of ordinary, bagels, danish, donoughts (how the heck do you spell that dang word) some fresh fruit, & cereal. We were never there for lunch, but we always tried to make it for the evening since it was free drinks :teeth: they always had something decent that was hot, like meatballs, mini corn dogs or bagel dogs, chicken wings etc... and there was always cheese trays and veggies ! once there were hot pretzels, which would have been cool if they had cheese or something for flavor :confused3 .. desserts are pretty lame since most times it was cookies or brownies which tasted like they were packaged, one night they had ice cream and the fixings to make your own sundaes ! now that was a great dessert !
This is the second time we were at club level, I think it's worth it if you get a good discounted rate (or a free upgrade !! ) it's really convenient in the morning to grab something light to hold you over ! and it's great at cocktail hour to sit and have a couple of drinks and light snack before you venture out for the night :thumbsup2

Thanks. With the AAA discount it was only $27 more to book club than the regular deluxe room we usually book. I figured we made that up in the three days we booked cabanas alone. We really hope we get a deluxe club room as there are five of us but we'll just have to wait and see. Between the cabana discount and the breakfast offerings and hopefully some beer for DH at night I'm sure we made the right decision.

As for the soda offerings, do they have diet coke? That's about all I drink, oh, except for white wine.

OK, thanks to macraven, on another post, I found out they do carry diet coke (my morning coffee :coffee: ), but now how about the white wine?

they carry coke products, diet and regular.

the cans are the little half cans , so take a lot of them.

yes to the wine when i was there. :woohoo:
