I've always promised myself a stay at the HRH if I could afford it, now it looks like I can.

Being a Rock n Roller boy over a Disney boy I plan to stay there for 14 nights, but need to know answers to these questions....

1 - Our daughter is only 3 so we will be in the room early in the evenings - Have the rooms got Pay per view movies like most hotels - HBO also???

2 - Sounds silly - but has the HRH got washer and dryer rooms?

3 - Would you recommend getting a deluxe room or are the standard rooms ok?

4 - Is there a shop and deli in the hotel - you know for snacks, drinks etc...

5 - How much is valet parking??

6 - Is the hotel child friendly?

Many questions I know !!!!!

Thanks.

Kevin.

Great choice, Kevin - the closest hotel to the parks and a 5 minute walk to CityWalk, but make sure you book directly with Universal - those package prices are scary!

1. You'll have plenty of options for TV viewing. You can also get internet access (for a cost);

2. Yes, there are laundry rooms;

3. We've stayed in both a deluxe and standard room at HRH. The deluxe rooms are bigger (500ft compared with 375ft, I think) and if I was staying for 14 nights, I think I would opt for the deluxe room. The standard room is fine, though.

4. Very limited snacks (chocolate, etc.) are available in the gift shop. I don't think there is anywhere else you can buy snacks, but room service is available 24/7.

5. Can't remember about valet parking. Self parking was $5 a day last time we stayed. I think it's more now - $6 or $7? Valet parking is going to be more - $10+ per day.

6. The hotel is very child friendly and the pool area is great.

Loads of UK DISers have stayed at the Hard Rock, so you should get plenty of replies, but you can also post questions on the Universal Resorts forum.

Hi :)

1) I don't actually remember. I believe there was pay-per-view, but I am not certain.
2) Yes, I believe there is a laundry room but I am not 100% certain.
3) We stayed in a standard room last April but this August I have a deluxe room booked. For a family of 4 (or less) IMO a standard room is fine. We had five, so had to pay extra for a roll-away bed, and I admit it was a bit of a squash fitting us all in the standard room.
4) There is a shop in the lobby which sells small snacks and drinks, but it isn't particularly cheap and there is not a great selection.
5) Valet Parking was $10/day last April
6) VERY child friendly! I would say it is the most friendly out of all the three Universal resorts. The pool is full of kids and the atmosphere is wonderful. DS, 5 loved it here.
