Hard Rock hotel for January 2007

I'm in full planning mode even though I'm not going til January 2007

1. what rate did you get for Jan 2006 before discount?
2. what rate with AP discount?
3. when do the January rooms usually become available to book?
4. When do AP discounts for January usually become available?

We had a poolview room 1/21 for $179. The rate dropped to $149 the next night. This was the AP rate. January 2006 was AP appreciation month. I was told that had some effect on on the rate.

We want to stay at the HRH in January '07 too. I am also curious when the rates open up for booking. I called and they said probably not until October. Could that possibly be true?? Three months before??? If so, I feel like I'll have to go offsite just to get all our plans finalized. Does anyone have any info on when they book for 1/07?? Thanks!!

I was told it would be April or May before they posted rates for 2007. I always try to go ahead and book a room as soon as I can, then periodically check to see if the rates have been lowered.

I have searched back through the Dis and it seems it was mid July before the 2006 dates were released and it was the end of November before AP rates became available.
Looks like I've got a long wait to book my room.
