Hard Rock Cafe in St. Thomas Closed!!

I'm a huge Hard Rock Cafe collector and my DS & I planned to visit the Hard Rock in St. Thomas on our cruise in October. But it's closed!!!! Argh! Does anyone know when it closed?

We are big Hard Rock Cafe fans as well -- the Hard Rock (at the least the merchandise store) was open when we went in Feb, 2005... I hope it re-opens for you!

It's still listed on the Hard Rock site, and I searched news on Google, no mention of it closing.
We have one here, and I've been to the one in Las Vegas, neither do much for me, there are better places in St. Thomas.

I emailed customer service and this is their reply...

My DS & I enjoy collecting their pins and it's kind of a tradition to stop at one when ever we can since we don't have one near us - closes one takes at least 7 hours to get to. I started collecting when I visited the 1st one in london when I was 16 and it's been on ongoing addiction.

We are big Hard Rock Cafe fans as well -- the Hard Rock (at the least the merchandise store) was open when we went in Feb, 2005... I hope it re-opens for you!

Not that this helps you...but they have one in the Caymen Islands!

We stopped there and had a drink last October and of course visited the store and bought shirts.

All right my to loves Disney cruises and Hard Rock Cafes.

The St. Thomas cafe closed 4/24/05. At first they were going to close it and move with the owners of the Cayman and Nassau Hard Rocks taking it over, but the deal feel apart, and corp. just closed the cafe, it was over the lease.

But good news, the owners of the Cayman and Nassau cafes, is opening one in St. Maarten, but no date has been set yet. The good thing about open one there, means I need to do the easten cruise again

Will e-mail the gal who I know in Cayman and see if there is a date set, she was here in Phoenix working, while the cafe was being repair after the hurricane hit Cayman.

You know I have it bad when I plan trips so I can hit as many HRC's as I can. Yes I have it bad, and as my name says I'm HRC Crazy.

We are doing the Eastern in October and I was hoping to to back there.

Is, as the previous poster said, they are planning one for St. Martin, you might get lucky. Several months before the St. Thomas HRC opened, I as there. They actually had a small walk-up window on the construction site where you could go and purchase souvenirs. Capitalism at its best. Maybe they will be at that stage with St. Martin. when you go!

Here is what she has to say about St. Maarten and St. Thomas, a note about Cayman where she works.

Sorry for the delay in my response, but it has been a busy week. We are currently putting up shutters for hurricane Denise, which is expected to hit early tomorrow morning. Good times!!!

Regarding St.Marteen, nothing is in place currently, and as far as I know, we are not going to be moving into St. Thomas either.

Bummer, no Hard Rock Cafes on the eastern cruise.

Thanks for the update. I guess my DS & I will just have to book another cruise for next year! We wanted to do the Western sometime anyways, now we have a good reason to really look into it.
