Some teen-age girl keeps on Text Messaging me. My cell plan does not include TMs, so I get to pay 15 cents for each one of her little pranks. I called her phone number and asked her to stop. She is now TMing me with swear words. I have a feeling that she will start to call me and harass me even more. I called Nextel when this first started to happen and they said that they could not block her number, but they did refund me some $$.

Does any one have have ideas? Does anyone know how to get someone's address from their cell phone number? I would like to call this little darling's parents and get her in trouble.

Call the police and make a formal complaint for harrassment. They will put a stop to it--and trust me, the little darlings mother will find out.

Thanks Anne. I was thinking about calling the police, but I have only had about 30 TMs (4 of them today) and one phone call from her. I would rather not involve the police quite yet because I don't want to waste their time over some little brat. I guess if she "mail bombs" me I will have to do that. I have her number, but I don't know where she lives!

Most PD's have a juvenile Division who spend a lot of time dealing with stuff like this. My son was being harrassed by three out of control girls shortly after we moved here. They were calling at all hours of the day and night, sending him 10-20 texts in a day. I finally called the local police who involved the police in the state these girls were from, and it stopped immediately. With one girl it was the third time she had been involved in something like this, and the police charged her. She got probation and community service, and was not allowed to use a computer connected to the Internet or a cell phone with texting capabilities until she was 18.

I know they charge a little bit of $$$ but have you thought of trying a reverse cell phone lookup place? My brother did it when someone was calling him all hours of the day and night on his phone and then hanging up. He had to have the phone by his bed for work reasons and he finally had enough. I think he paid $15 for the service but it had a money back guarantee if the information wasn't there.

Just a thought. Hope you can get it figured out soon!

Yes... call the police. Keep all her TM and let the officer see them.. It makes a better case for you not a "she said and what I said" case.
Her parents are responsible for her. They are now responsible for the cost of your phone bill since their little darling is harrassing you.
The police can contact the carrier and shut down the phone. Harrassment is harrassment no matter what age the person is!

We have verizon. My Ds was getting text after telling his friend not to do it. I called and they blocked his number from receiving texts. That would help with that part of it. My friend was receiving threatening calls on her cell. She made a police report. The officer called the guy while standing at my friends and gave him a warning. The guy called again. My friend again called the police. This time they sent an officer to the guys house and personally told him to cease or he would be arrested for harassment. She did file charges against him during this time. The personal visit must have worked because he has never called back. She had no clue who he was or how he got her number. The best guess was he had a problem with someone with a similar number and was actually trying to mess with them.
Good luck!

If it has gone this far, you need to call the police. Thirty messages is a lot and she may become more aggressive.

I had this happen to me a few months back. Someone was TM'ing me dozens of times a day from an unknown number. The second day, my Boyfriend called the police to see what they suggested we do. They told him to come in the station and bring the phone. Since we only live a couple of miles from the station, he took it in and the officer at the desk called the number while my BF was standing there. Never got another text.

Good luck to you!:)

If you don't want to call the police, you can always tell her that's what you intend to do (give an ultimatum). Tell her about all the trouble that she may find herself in, plus mommy and daddy will find out. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Good luck!

I agree that you should probably contact the Police.

I had one about a year or so ago - it scared me as I didn't know the #. Called the police and went and made a complaint. The message stated that I know who you are but you do not know me - are you scared yet? It did stop after the cops called the person who texted the message. He/she stated someone at college must have gotten ahold of his phone and did it. I was scared as I didn't know who it was or if they really knew me or not. I would definetly notify the police in this matter. Good Luck!

I think you would actually be doing her a favor by calling the police. Maybe somebody can straighten her out before it's too late.

Do you know why she is TM'ing you or how she got your number?

It could get worse (ie stalking) if it is not nipped in the bud.

Having a teen daughter who racked up over 2000 text messages one month and over 3000 the next prompted me to call my cell phone server and tell them to remove text messaging capabilities from her phone. They did it instantly and the problem was solved. Verizon might not be able to block her number, but they should be able to "turn off" your ability to receive text messages if you do not use that feature.

That's a good idea!:thumbsup2

Here is the plan, post her # on here and we will all have a fun evening of sending that nasty little girl text messages. ;)

Sounds like fun to me. I am at work all night so I can text her every 15 minutes just has she gets back to sleep! ;)

LOL, you guys are evil!!

I got two more TMs. I texted back and told her I was not "Mary", that I did not know her, that I would call the police if she continued to harass me and that this was her one and only warning. She texted me twice with "What?" and then nothing. I guess if I get any more from her, I'll contact the police. I'll feel pretty stoopid. "Hello officer. I'm an adult who is being bothered by a teen girl ..." But at least it will make her stop. I hope.

Thanks for the unanimous kick in the pants!
