Happy School Year!

I just wanted to pop on and wish all of the teachers and school staff DISers a fabulous new school year!!! I know we have a lot of you out there especially on this part of the DIS (still hoping for a teacher forum one day ).

Today was our first day back with the kiddos and it went relatively smooth with the exception of locker chaos, my ActivBoard computer crapping out on me ten minutes before my kids came in, and one child who lost her schedule during lunch (mine was exactly 7.5 minutes today...so long leisurely lunchtime!).

Oh Nikki, just back today?!? OK, I'm not a teacher, but we parents feel as if we are back in school too when the new year starts. We started Aug. 23! I long for the post-Labor Day start, but it has been earlier and earlier in August since DD13 started school.

We have had a pretty good start so I am hoping for a good year to come. Glad you first day was not too crazy.

Happy New School Year to you too! We started back with the kiddos on Aug. 30. I have a really nice group this year. Looking forward to getting all of the "routine" things ironed out so we can really start in the content.

Day 1 today . I'm exhausted! It's still way too hot to be in school. I want to go back to Disney World!!!!

It is weird to hear you saying you are just starting when we hand out 1st nine weeks progress reports tomorrow!

I am helping one of my K teachers implement 4 Ipods and an Ipad into her classroom as part of a grant. I am having a blast with helping her. My Ipad will be here in two days. Can't wait to have one to play with.

Happy New School Year all!!We also started back on August 23. My fourth year in Middle School after defecting from elementary. The kids just started getting comfortable today, so the excitement should be starting soon!

First day over here too. My son started Grade 5, and has his Grade 3 teacher, whom he loves. The big news is that my twins are in different rooms this year. One is in a straight Grade 2, while the other is in a split 2/3.

The funniest part of the day (to me anyways) was this morning. Jessica came out in her "special Barbie" black dress, black leggings and shoes, looking quite spiffy. Ciara took one look at her sister and exclaimed "OMG Jessie, YOU'RE GOTH!!"

We also start back early - August 18 this year! The good part of this is that we get a "Fall Break" and THAT'S when we usually go to WDW!

Sadly, not this year, though!
