I want to wish everyone on the Dis a very happy New Year and Spring! The actual new year is not until tomorrow night at 7:59 pm.
The Persians and many other cultures celebrate the first day of Spring as the New Year. Basically we celebrate the Vernal Equinox.

So...
Happy New Year!

...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU, Princess!:D

Does your family do anything particular to celebrate? Are you cooking something festive? (Don't forgt to invite your UNCLE.:))

hahaha, my uncle is already invited! we have a special dinner and at the time of the equinox (this year it's 7:59 pm) we gather around a table set up with seven s's. I'm not really sure how to explain it so here is a link:

Happy New Year, Von....:D

Thanks and Happy New Year to you as well. As a Baha'i it is my New Years as well. We had a party tonight with our community but I had to come home early as I am not well. My dh (who is not a Baha'i) is still there having fun while I am here watching TV and looking at the DIS.
