I printed our boarding passes this morning, we're packed and heading out for a quick NY Eve visit with our adult kids and at 8:20 am tomorrow we leave the 30s ans 40s of the Endless Mountains of PA for the 70s and 80's of WDW. What a sacrifice! By this time tomorrow I'll appear exactly as seen below, down to the R&C shirt and cap. Thanks to all my friends here for helping me adjust our plans to go this week as we've never done a winter trip before. Looks like we lucked out and I hope to see some of you there.

Have fun Bill. I know you have been steadily watching the weather, as I have seen all of your posts. I really hope you enjoy your trip!!

I'll be looking for you and your family there. I'll be the one with lime green Mickey heads all over (my suitcase, lanyard, backpack) and lime green DIS pin. I should be pretty easy to spot!

I'm right behind ya- :D
I am starting to get the pre-Disney vacation excitement/nerves
Have a great trip all you January DISers! Let's hope for all sunny mid-upper 70's days! :sunny:

Have a great trip. We leave Sunday morning and will arrive Wednesday. It is a long drive but I look forward to it each time.

Happy New Year

I won't see midnight, I'm getting picked up at 4:30 am to head to the airport.
Jan 1, see you in Disney!!! :hyper: :hyper:
Off to bed!

Bill,

Have a Magical vacation and PLEASE bring the warm temps back with you. While we haven't had anything resembling snow in Hbg, Farm Show Week is just around the corner and that generally signals the true start of winter weather in south-central PA.

If you are flying out of HIA (MDT), please kick the grumpy young lady/security guard with the attitude at the baggage drop.

Yep, Back when I lived in Central Pa, it always snowed for the farm show! Glad we moved to Central Fl instead!

Bill, have a great vacation! The weather was awesome today and just going to get better the next few days!!! Great time to be in Fl!

Happy New Year to you and yours, Bill! Hopefully we brought all the chilly weather back up to Chicago w/us a few days ago.Even more than the weather, I hope the CROWDS are way less for you than us...you're gonna have a great time, we had room 8183 at the Dophin, balcony overlooking MGM...awesome room, if you like comp. upgrades that is! :cool1:

Happy New Year and enjoy WDW! It looks like the weather will be great for the next couple weeks. Say "Hi!" to Bob Jackson for us and tell him we'll see him in a few weeks! :cool1:

Greetings from a fellow PA resident who did nearly the exact same thing. Posting from our timeshare near the parks. We typically don't come down this time of year, being from Bethlehem where Christmas is such a big thing. This year we got lucky in the leap year "week 53" lottery at Marriott, and got an extra week starting 12-31. What a blast at Downtown Disney last night. Things still decorated for Christmas, which we have not seen before. We'll be doing some time at the parks this week, but not every day. Our "kids" are 19 and 21, so they're cool hanging out at the pool with pizza, etc. I will look much like your photo later today (maybe minus the hat!--didn't pack one). Check out all the Iowa people here--you would think they have a bowl game going or something (OK, another frustrated PSU diehard here--no bowl again!). Anyhow, we were really hoping to leave 20 degree weather up in PA but it is pretty nice there today. Not so nice as Orlando, however!! I wish I was rich--I'd stay here all winter. I think I am socially slow, as I still love all the Disney stuff and never get tired of it. What a place! Have fun--we will--for a week, anyhow!

As I grope my way to consciousness I can look outside and tell you the weather is perfect. A glance on the web says your week will be excellent. We may head up there ourselves if it stays like this.

I seem to recall a pretty hilarious thread on the merrits of "Drinking around the world" at Epcot you were part of. Well, may the skies be clear, the lines be non-existant and the bartenders a little too stiff to stop pouring....enjoy!

Hey Bill,

I'll see you down there. We're leaving at 4:30am and will be in WDW on Monday around 3pm.

I feel like I already know you from seeing your picture so many times. LOL!

I'll have to look for something lime green to wear. If anyone sees me, make sure you say hi. I'll be the one with all the children!!! (yeah, like that will narrow it down...lol).

Mary
