Happy Festivus!

Oh boy, the made up holiday.

All holidays were made up at one time or another. Always good to add another to the mix. I don't have an aluminum pole to decorate though. This looks interesting if a little suggestively shaped.

That's actually so Seinfeld. :rotfl: Someone buys it, having not seeing the photo, to put up in the elementary school playground. And then THAT goes up. The expressions on all the kids moms' faces. o_Oo_Oo_O

:rotfl:

At my age one holiday is enough.
You do know about hanukkah (sp?) and Kwanzaa (another one people complain is 'made up'). Lots going on this time of year.

Don't forget Saturnalia - The ancient Roman festival of Saturnalia is perhaps the most closely linked with the modern celebration of Christmas. This festival happened around the time of the winter solstice and celebrated the end of the planting season. Probably pre-dates Christmas?

Can I post this here? 20+ years ago I had a high school friend named Leroy. We've reconnected and it is weird, sad, and hilarious. We both ended up with E girls. Had our ups and downs. Weren't BFFs 20 years ago, but always friends. Celebrating lost friends and happy times. Cheers!

Hanukkah or Chanukah? How about Boxing Day?
Did you celebrate Bathtub Party Day on December 5?
December 24th is Christmas Eve, National Chocolate Day and National Egg Nog Day.
December 9th was National Llama day. December 19th was National Emo Day. National Pick a Pathologist Day was December 13. December 16th was National Barbie and Barney Backlash day.
