My dad mowed the grass. Does that count?
actually gas-powered lawn mowers kinda pollute the air.
yikes!
the metal ones that have spinning blades are good ones to use.
it is REALLY difficult to be environmentally friendly these days.
but i have become somewhat of an activist for trying to "
go green".
i have become aware of all the electricity i consume (unecessarily) and i am trying my best to cut down.
(turning off the comp. when i'm not using it, not turning on lights when it's bright out, unplugging stuff when i'm not using it)
i've also recently submitted a letter to my managers at work telling them how i (and some fellow employees) feel about our terribly recycling habits and massive engery consumption.
i proposed that we start putting all our left over popcorn in the organic waste bins, as opposed to the garbage, and that we RECYCLE any materials that could be recycled instead of throwing them in the trash.
They also leave SO MANY lights on that could be turned off, so I've asked permission to turn them off when they are not in use.
I haven't heard anything back yet, but I really hope they take our requests seriously.
Today for earth day, my boyfriend and I walked everywhere instead of driving. (except to the fair, because it was like....a million miles away)
and we picked up a ton of garbage around my property.
It feels really good to do even the smallest good thing for the environment.
I would encourage you guys to try and cut down your electricity usage, or not be concious of any littering-habits you may have. (even spitting gum out onto the sidewalK!)
even the slightest changes can make a difference.
GO GREEN.
