so yeah.

do earthy stuff.

:hippie:

Today I'll make sure I don't throw any gum wrappers out the car window. :)

Tomorrow, though, is another story.

Ours always grow good. But this year we're only planting tomatoes...Except for flowers and bushes and crap.

When I was in 8th grade, I won a trip to The University Of Tennessee for a week to learn about gardening on a large scale. I spent most of the time researching grass types to use for the football field. We helped plant a few of the bushes down there too.

It was really fun.

Wait, I thought it was yesterday! :confused3

Anyways yesterday our local zoo had a BIG celebration for it. We went. Got a tree to plant. Havent planted it yet but sometime will. :)

There was a big celebration at the river. Fox River.
For those of you that know Illinois.

Well, our teacher is obsessed with nature so he gave extra credit to anyone that went.

I know it's off topic and I'm sorry but he's the same teacher that wrote: "Has a B average. I expect it to be an A by the end of the year. Work harder" on my progress report. I was so mad at him.
Well he has a huge poster in our room. I guess I just didn't notice it... :teeth:

THANK YOU EARTH I LOVE YOU!!!!!
^my earth day support.

I def. sat outside and read 100 pages of a book... which I just realized killed a tree. I'm sorry. I love you Earth!

I'm not usually very "Earthy" but I make sure to like recycle and pick litter around places when I'm really in the mood, but it is kind of sad how the earth is ending up. Even though my science teacher is like a serious :hippie: , she said that my town (which is right near the beach) will end up permanetly flooded about 40 feet b/c of global warming in the next 5 to 40 years.

My dad mowed the grass. Does that count?

actually gas-powered lawn mowers kinda pollute the air.
yikes!
the metal ones that have spinning blades are good ones to use.

it is REALLY difficult to be environmentally friendly these days.
but i have become somewhat of an activist for trying to "go green".
i have become aware of all the electricity i consume (unecessarily) and i am trying my best to cut down.
(turning off the comp. when i'm not using it, not turning on lights when it's bright out, unplugging stuff when i'm not using it)

i've also recently submitted a letter to my managers at work telling them how i (and some fellow employees) feel about our terribly recycling habits and massive engery consumption.
i proposed that we start putting all our left over popcorn in the organic waste bins, as opposed to the garbage, and that we RECYCLE any materials that could be recycled instead of throwing them in the trash.
They also leave SO MANY lights on that could be turned off, so I've asked permission to turn them off when they are not in use.
I haven't heard anything back yet, but I really hope they take our requests seriously.

Today for earth day, my boyfriend and I walked everywhere instead of driving. (except to the fair, because it was like....a million miles away)
and we picked up a ton of garbage around my property.

It feels really good to do even the smallest good thing for the environment.
I would encourage you guys to try and cut down your electricity usage, or not be concious of any littering-habits you may have. (even spitting gum out onto the sidewalK!)
even the slightest changes can make a difference.

GO GREEN. :goodvibes :hippie:
