Happy Darwin Day!!!! - Interesting Gallup Poll

Happy Birthday Charles Darwin not only do we celebrate your great scientific mind on this day but today has become a day for global celebration of science and reason. I have linked some interesting Gallup polls published 02/11/09 which reveal the disturbing statistic that only 4 in 10 US citizens accept Evolution. These polls make it ever more clear that the educational system in the United States is flawed at best. Especially when one looks at various other worldwide polls in which we rank close to the bottom in acceptance of Evolution among the general public slightly above Turkey. Having said that the polls also show as the level of Education increases so does the level of acceptance for the Theory of Evolution. But alas that is not what today is about, today is about celebrating one of the most influential if not the most influential Evolutionary Biologists that has ever walked this green and beautiful Earth.
