I am thrilled to be going to WDW for Mousefest. Hope to be having a great and educational time.
Can you explain Mousefest for me? We'll be there and I'm on an email list for Mousefest with TheMouseForLess.com but I'm just not getting the concept I guess?
Everything they're talking about doing has been bashed so often on DIS that I guess I'm a bit surprised. One of the main things they're discussing is gathering as a huge group and going on rides together.....yet when the tour groups with their same colored shirts and flagholder bring 50 people into a line at once they are resoundedly bashed by DIS (the one I see most often bashed for this behavior is the Yellow Shirted Brazilans, but I've also seen others). The other things discussed is private parties at various resorts, and a party sounds fun, but I typically like to know at least someone at a party.....my kids are more social butterflies than I am, so they'll do better at something like this than me as they'll talk to anyone, especially about Disney, but the discussions of what will be at the parties makes me wonder if it's actually kid-friendly or not (lots of posts about bringing along alcohol....I'm not opposed to alcohol, but if it's the focus of the party, it's not for us).
I was hoping it would be something that was coordinated with Disney, maybe tours that are special for the group, or meet and greets that aren't open to the public.......but again, going by the posts I'm seeing, they're all a bit upset that Disney won't coordinate anything special for them.
So...help educate me about the alure of Mousefest. Is it great simply because you all have been chatting on lists/boards or at the park so you're all friends? What's in it for a newcomer with children? What events are going on that will be fun for strangers, lol.
