This place is SOOOO COOOL !!!
We got here today about noon and ended up in overflow for about 30 minutes. It was pretty crowded over there...guess alot of people check in on Saturdays !!
We are in the 1800 loop just a couple of sites down from the pet walk by the canal. The site is great...we can put out the slides and awning and it's very quiet and peaceful back here. We didn't have enough room though to park the minivan in front of the motorhome though so they said I could leave it at the parking lot by the office as long as I have the pass in the window. When we need it we can just take the golf cart up there to get it.
We got settled in pretty quickly, checked out our golf cart and headed over to The Lodge for a later lunch (was about 2 at this point). We parked the cart at the settlement and walked over. Was a nice, quiet walk. Had lunch at Roaring Forks (good pizza) and took the bus back here. We spent a couple of hours driving around and still only saw about 1/2 of the loops !! We came back to our site and hung out here for awhile. I took the dog for a walk, hubby and kids played catch and other stuff, we went for a bike ride and just chilled. I did put the green ribbons on the golf cart and site post
After a couple of hours here we headed to Trails End for dinner. Ressies were for 8:30 but we didn't get in until 9:15 !! They said the computer system went down and they lost the ressies.
Lots of unhappy people. They were telling walk ups at that point it was a 45 minute wait. We weren't mad...things happen. But hubby and kids were getting pretty tired. When we did get in, the food was decent. I think we were just too tired to really enjoy it. We got out of there just when the fireworks were ending. We were hoping to go down and see them from the dock but we will try again tomorrow. I wasn't about to let one bad experience ruin my day !!
After dinner, hubby dropped me off at the minivan so I could go search for some Pepsi and some plastic Easter eggs. He came back to the site and got the kids showered and in bed. A little over an hour later I was finally back (It's amazing how many other last minute moms were at Walgreens buying Easter things, lol) and hubby came back and picked me up. We filled the eggs with candy and will hide them in the morning for the kids (along with the Easter baskets I made them at home).
Now it is almost 2am and I am just getting ready to go to sleep....kids have been sleeping for a few hours now, lol. I tried to post a few pictures on the picture posting thread, but I am having trouble with photobucket tonight. I will try again tomorrow night.
Forecast is calling for rain and thunderstorms later this week. PLEASE cross your fingers that we get some decent weather...
