Got me tree up, and the winders decorated. V and Julie are dressin the tree and I'm sittin with a well earned beer and listenin to one of me Christmas tapes. I love this month !!!!

LOL Dave I seem to remember you were first off the blocks this time last year As you know I've been in denial until now, but I turned the corner last week- I'm in planning mode and now thinking of the pressies I want to buy, plus that nice 'it's nearly Christmas' feeling came over me when December 1st arrived at midnight! You know the one I mean ( It wasn't the drinks I'd had last night, honestly !)
So although I'm way behind you with my buying and my decs ( I did have the Advent calendars ready for the boys this morning though ), I know how you're feeling and hope you continue to enjoy the build up to Christmas Happy Christmas to you too

Went Christmas shopping yesterday for 7 straight hours and will buy the tree next Sat. This will be our first Xmas without our DS Simon, so it will be much quieter than usual, but we leave on the 26th for the airport and are flying out on the 27th so I will catch up with him then. He has been to Wallmart and bought 3 strings of lights which he is going to put up in his apartment, and he has watched all the parks get decorated, and helped his managers to decorate the staff rooms ' off stage' so he is having a blast as usual!!! We (as in Chris!) put our lights up on the outside of the house yesterday and we had the big switch on last night. Lots of icicles hanging from the soffits - looks lovely

We were in full swing of putting all the branches on our new tree last night when the electric went off!!!!!

Luckily we'd been to IKEA the day before and had bought loads of candles for our fireplace - no need for a fire - so lit them instead. It was luuuvely and cosy and very Christmassy. Then spend the evening trying to untangle the lights and Des trying to work out which bulbs weren't working!!!!

I haven't got a tree or any lights up yet...we've only just got back from you know where and putting up my christmas lights after seeing the Osborne family lights seems a bit inadequate somehow! LOL. I'm sure I'll get around to it soon...after I've finished unpacking.

I'm a bit behind this year. Finally got around to putting the tree and outside lights (tasteful, of course ) this weekend. I love Christmas and usually the start of December is the excuse I need to get the deccies up!

Can't believe it's only 2 weeks away - I've hardly done any shopping! I <i>have</i> managed to get a Christmas Eve slot for Waitrose Deliver though. Just as well seeing as I've got 10 for Christmas dinner. Hope they don't run out of turkey.
